Chapter 5: Alone

(Y/N)'s POV

I dressed myself up and went out of the bathroom. I went to Sophia. She was cleaning the dishes from our meal.

(Y/N): Time for me to go.

Sophia dropped a plate, breaking it. She turned to me.

Sophia: B-but... Do you really have to?

(Y/N): I came here to make sure you're fine. I'll come back in a few days to check up on you again. I want you to feed yourself and go out a little.

Sophia: Yes, b-but... Can't you stay here a little longer? It gets lonely here at night~

She tried to sound seductive but i was having none of it. I frowned.

(Y/N): Don't try that. We're not together anymore.

She looked down ashamed of herself.

(Y/N): You just have to accept it.

I opened the door. Before me stood the same man she cheated on me with.

Man: What are you doing here? Where's Sophia?

(Y/N): She's inside.

He tried to enter but i blocked the way.

Man: Move.

I shook my head.

(Y/N): You don't deserve to talk to her after what you did.

Sophia came.

Sophia: (Y/N)? Why are you-?

She saw the man.

Sophia: What do you want Ralph?

Ralph: Look Sophia, that girl wasn't for me. I just realized it. I want you back.

Sophia got angry. She marched towards the guy. I stood between them to prevent a fight.

Sophia: How dare you to ask me such things?! You're just a cheating piece of shit! Why would i want anything to do with you?!

Ralph: Come on, don't be like that.

He tried to grab her but i grabbed his hand instead. He looked at me in confusion. I was looking down with my hair covering my eyes.

(Y/N): Back off, pal.

Ralph: Let go of me, shrimp. Or else-

I looked him dead in the eyes.

(Y/N): Or else what?

Ralph: Or else you'll regret it!

I tightened my grip so much that blood started comming out of his hand. He was trying to pull himself away.

Ralph: LET GO!

(Y/N): If you insist...

I let go of him while he was trying to get away from my grasp. He fell down while holding his hand. Tears started filling his eyes. I crouched in front of him.

(Y/N): Don't talk to her again.

Ralph: Pfft, why would i listen to you?

I stood up and grabbed his leg.

Ralph: Oh God please NO!

I snapped his leg in half.

Ralph: AAAAAGH!

(Y/N): Because this is your other option.

I dropped him.

(Y/N): Get outta here.

He started limping away. Sophia was blushing.

Sophia: Oh... Oh my... Where'd you learn to do that?

I shrugged without saying anything and started walking away.

Sophia: W-Wait!

She grabbed my arm but i didn't look at her.

Sophia: Would you like to stay for a... coffee?

I pulled myself away and started walking again.

(Y/N): Goodbye forever, Sophia.

I left her hanging there.

Timeskip until midnight

I was at the cemetery. It was near a cliff for some reason. I was standing in front of my parent's graves.

(Y/N): Hello Mother, Father. I know i haven't visited in a while and i'd like you to forgive me about it.

I looked at my father's grave.

Here lies Caleb Quinn.

1978 - 2020

Strong Father, Loyal Husband, Good Friend.

Then at my mother's.

Here lies Anna Quinn.

1980 - 2020

Caring Mother, Faithful Wife, Dear Friend.

(Y/N): I brought you these, mother.

I placed eight snowdrops on her grave.

(Y/N): Your favourites. And this is for you, father.

I placed a fist full of gears on his grave.

(Y/N): You thaught me how to use those, remember?

I felt the wind through my hair.

(Y/N): I just wish i have found your body so i can give you a proper burial, mother. I promise you, if i find that hunter again... I'll put him in the ground for good.

I bowed.

(Y/N): Goodbye for now.

I walked away.

I was sitting on the edge of the cliff next to the cemetery.

(Y/N): Hmm... I'm thinking of some hunting during the weekend. It'll help me clear my head a little.

I started to hum my mother's lullaby.
