Today was a snow day.

Meaning, no school for children or teens, no work for the grown.

A free day to do whatever.

Whether today was used for sleeping, playing, or just staying warm, it was a break for everyone.

---------

Struggling to make his way through the snow, Henry continued waddling through the soft blanket of coldness. He left footsteps with each step he took, only for another pair to be made right behind his.

After a short minute or two, the man was lifted up in the air by a pair of inky gloves and held, feeling how his carrier went up and down every step. "So, where we headin', toots?"

Blinking a few times, Henry took a second to remember where they were supposed to be going to.

"The one park near the road. You know, that one road."

...

Feeling air brush against his back as he was dropped into the familiar freezing sensation of the snow beneath him.

Taking in a deep breath and exhaling, he put a hand over his heart. "What was that for-"

Seeing a blurry, black blob make its way past him and to lean against the closest tree, he sat up and used his hands to search around for his glasses.

They must've fallen off when he was so unexpectedly DROPPED. The impudence of the stupid, black blob.

Watching the man fumble around when looking for his glasses was hilarious to watch as much as it was amusing. However, the two lovebirds did have a place to be and the Ink Demon was not a big fan of hearing Henry complain of how late they are/were going to be.
Whether you can even be "late to the park" when it wasn't a hangout, he was sure Henry would find something to complain about.

Buuut...watching for a few more minutes surely could hurt, could it?

------------

On their way to the park, Henry couldn't help but stop and examine his surroundings a little. He's seen this place millions of times, sure; but the snow just compliments the land so much more than the grass usually did. Or, maybe he's trying to use this as a distraction to ignore the discourteous demon of a partner.

Spotting a being of color, Henry directed his attention to the new-found-living object.
He maneuvered towards the bright, beautiful plant-what was assumed a plant-as the Ink Demon stopped his teasing to see what his lover could have seen that made him lose his attention.

Bending down onto the ground, Henry reached his hand to gently pull at the plant before simply plucking it out. It was more difficult due to his winter gloves kept getting in the way.

The man wanted to pick the flower with the roots and all, to hopefully plant it into water in a jar inside his house until he was able to buy a pot so it could stay warm, yet still absorb light through the window.

Actually, they could head to the flower shop after they visited the park.

"A flower." A voice behind him concludes, seemingly to have already made his way over.

Henry hummed and nodded, grasping the flower, holding it as gently as he could muster. "It's not often you see such beautiful flowers in such freezing temperatures.. I'm surprised it's still living, honestly."

Turning and twisting it, Henry examined the beautifully colored, fully blossomed flower.

"Hm. Just like how I'm surprised you're still living at such an age-" Feeling an elbow knock him in the knees, the Ink Demon stopped speaking. Quickly.

"OW! HEY-"

---------

Henry was sitting on a swing as it swayed back in forth in a slow, calm manner. He was still holding the flower as he viewed the streets beyond the park.

Meanwhile, his lover was traumatizing kids by hiding in the darkened areas of the park, jumping out to scare little kids running past.

Or that was until they managed to both get kicked out of the park once the demon ran up to him, playing victim as he was getting scolded by a cop patrolling the park.

The two were now on their way to the flower shop to check out a pot fit for the flower, but it had already died by the time they made it there. Henry was a bit bummed out because of it, but the Ink Demon got a kick out of it since he got to eat it.

They also had fun by throwing snowballs at each other. Or maybe it was a rock, Henry couldn't remember well..

----

By the end of the day, Henry and the Ink Demon were both sitting by the fireplace of their home, basking in the warmth the fire provided as they were held in each other's arms.
