"What if she's fine?"

"THERE'S also Uncle Fester, but you probably won't meet him. He only likes to drop in on occasion. You've already met Lurch, our driver" Wednesday explained to Arabella in her same dull voice.

The two sat across from Layla and Enid. The Sinclair family had extra space in their house for the summer, and Enid decided to invite Wednesday. Arabella had predicted Wednesday would be mortified at the idea, but she was proven wrong. Morticia had reluctantly agreed to let her stay with them, only for the sole purpose of making more space for Arabella.

"I'm gonna miss you two next year. Who's gonna help me with my herbology homework?" Enid complained.

"I think you're forgetting that you're sitting right next to Ms perfect grades." Layla smiled, signaling to Wednesday.

Arabella looked down at her wrist, checking the expensive watch her parents had gifted her a few years back.

"It's quarter past ten. We should've left twenty minutes ago." She added on.

"So I guess this is goodbye"

"We could always meet up on the break"

The group made their way downstairs and toward the front of the school, where Lurch stood, along with the Sinclair family. The majority of students had left early for the break to go on vacation or overseas. Arabella heaved her bags over her shoulder and started packing them into the boot

"Arabella!"

She turned around to see both Layla and Enid run up and give her a bone-crushing hug. They looked at her with tear-filled eyes.

"Go wait in the car, Enid" Layla looked over to Enid with pleading eyes.

She obliged and went to go wait in the car with the rest of the Sinclair family.

"Anytime, if you need a place to stay, call me; anytime. Even in like 60 years when were elderly. But other than that, we absolutely have to meet up on the break." Layla told her.

"Of course. Also, I better be the first person you message when those two burn the house down." Arabella giggled, pointing to the two girls sitting in the Sinclair car.

"I better get going, I told Morticia I'd be there by 1. Bye Layla." Arabella said, pulling Layla in for one last hug.

"Don't have too much fun without me" Layla replied back to her, looking down trying to hide her tears.

The two girls entered their separate cars and made their way to their homes; or in Arabella's case, the Addam's home.

The drive felt like an eternity, but it was only a few hours. The car was empty, except for her and Lurch. Arctic Monkeys and Lana Del Ray songs blasted into her headphones. She distracted herself with small games on her phone.

She stared out the window in awe as the car pulled into the driveway. The house was big- no, massive; even bigger than the one her family owned. It was a tall house, painted with darker colors. There was a tower at the top in the middle of the house that stood out to Arabella.

Her face lit up as she saw Morticia waiting for her at the door. She was wearing her usual long black dress. As the car came to a stop, Arabella jumped out and greeted Morticia.

"How was the drive?" Morticia asked politely

The two were now making their way to a spare bedroom, Lurch following slowly behind them as he hauled the bags up the numerous flights of stairs.

"Honestly the drive was so peaceful. There's so much scenery." Arabella replied.

Morticia nodded in reply and she pushed open the door to the bedroom. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary. There was a queen bed lying in the middle of the room, and two windows parallel to the door, with a perfect view of the front garden.

Arabella let out a sigh that she had been holding in for the past month and gazed out the window. She felt Morticia wrap her arms around her waist and hug her from behind. Is this what it felt like to be an old married couple? If it was, Arabella couldn't wait.
