"The first poe cup took place in 1897, as a way to not only honour Nevermore's first famous alumni, but to celebrate those values that all outcasts share. Community, perseverance, and determination and we certainly saw those values on display today" Principle Weems said into the microphone before grabbing the trophy and passing it to Enid. She let out a big cheer and everybody else followed, Odette had never seen her so happy in her life and she cheered along with her.
"Congratulations, Ophelia Hall, as a former resident, I will be happy to see the cup back on it's mantle after all these years. Odette looked out into the crowd and spotted Xavier, he wasn't clapping even Aja was clapping and he owed for thirty bucks for it.
She sent him a death glare and headed off towards him.
"hey Odie-" "you" she cut Ajax off by pointing at Xavier "me?" he said "Yes, you I need to talk to you" she said as she looked down to her feet, she was getting emotional just by thinking about it and it made her feel embarrassed.
"come with me now" she said, grabbing his wrists as she pulled her into the hallways of Ophelia hall.
Xavier wasn't dumb. He knew he had done something wrong and that Bianca had said something to Odette but he didn't know what.
When Odette closed the door she turned around and Xaviers heart stopped. She had tears, her mascara had slightly run down under her eyes and her posture looked defeated, she had just won the biggest competition and yet she somehow looked like she had lost.
He sighed to himself knowing it was him that had made her like that, it was him who ruined this day for her.
"You told her?!" Odette started "You were sworn to secrecy by the principle and you told the girl at the school who is known for being a mean girl a secret about me that you had no right to tell?"
"Oette I-"
"No you don't get to talk, I yell, you listen!" she said now in front of him, Xavier just nodded his head and looked at her.
"You had no right to tell her that, it is my secret!" she yelled pushing him back slightly "I went through that trauma not you!" she yelled again, pushing him back more.
Xavier wasn't fighting it, he let her get her anger out on him.
"I spent a year ignoring you just because I didn't want to talk about it and the first time it is brought up it's by Bianca Barclay!" she pushed him back again.
The hall was long but they didn't have much long to go till the wall but Odette wasn't done, far from it.
"People got hurt because of me, people died because of me and you weren't supposed to know, you just happened to find out because of your powers and I never blamed you for that" she pushed him again.
"We haven't even been friends for a week and you've stuffed up twice!"
"Odette I-"
"Shut up!" she yelled again, accidentally pushing him to hard as her powers shot through her hands and she flew Xavier across the hall and into the wall.
He fell to the floor.
"Xavier?" she whimpered out, her anger turning into shock as she looked down to her hands.
She was dangerous, Bianca was right.
"Xavier?" she called out again as she ran to him, he was unresponsive and Odette started choking on her sobs.
"Xavier please wake-up" she called out, brushing his hair out his face. "Xavier I'm sorry" her tears dropping onto his uniform.
The door opened and miss Thornhill walked into the room.
"Odette I heard- oh"
"I didn't mean to" Odette sobbed out, not leaving Xaviers side as she looked back to miss Thornhill, she was distraught and on edge.
"Please get help" Odette said out loud as Thornhill ran out again, leaving Odette to cradle Xaviers head into her lap.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" she cried out, leaning into his body.
Xavier started coughing as he shot up from her lap, he was looking around in confusion until his eyes landed on Odette who immediately enveloped the boy into a hug "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" she kept on apologising as he hugged her back.
"You're okay Odette" he told her "You're okay" he said again rubbing her back.
she unreleased from the hug "I thought I killed you" she sobbed, running her hands underneath her eyes to get rid of the tears "unfortunately you didn't" Xavier just shrugged before he leaned forward to wipe her tears off her face for you.
"Oh god I am a monster" Odette stood up, looking down at her hands, Xavier stood up behind her "no you are not Odette"
"I just threw you into a fucking wall!"
Xavier grabbed the girls shoulders to make her look at him "hey look at me, look at me" he said softly, soothing the girl "hey I deserved it okay" he smiled "I did something terrible and made you relive trauma, you have every right to be mad at me okay" he reassured her, watching her nod he brought her into a hug.
Odette hugged Xavier really tight. She almost killed him and he was still apologising to her.
"I'm sorry" she whispered out
"I'm sorry too" he told her, brushing her hair with his fingers.
"Miss Thornhill's going to grab someone from the sick bay" Odette told the boy before stepping away from him. "Are you going to come?" he asked "I think I'm gonna spend some time alone with myself first" she sadly smiled at him before walking towards the door and letting Miss Thornhill in with an infirmary teacher.
