"Mr. Ives has been declared missing."
That's what the vice principle said to the class before it was filled with a bunch of gasps, murmurs, and whispers. This isn't the first missing person's case at our school.
In fact, ever since the Pizza Plex burned down, a bunch of people have been going missing.
Because it happened after it burned down, people have started speculating that the ghosts there are responsible for this.
Even saying they saw a shadowy figure with red eyes and sharp teeth in the school when they would stay after hours.
Who would make up stupid rumors like that?
I was absolutely devastated by the news. Everyone loved Mr. Ives, and he loved everyone. He was funny, kind, optimistic, and would even waste time out of his day to tutor kids and help them get better grades.
I look around the classroom once I felt this strange feeling. Like...
Someone was watching me
I thought it would be Payton staring daggers at me, trying to think of a new way to attempt to crack my skull open, but she wasn't thankfully.
Although, she had no sympathy on her face for the news she just heard about our teacher literally going missing. In fact, she seemed bored.
Her (natural and super rare) red eyes looked at her fingers as she twirled her shoulder lengthened black hair. Yes, she looks like just what she is. A demon. Honestly, when I first saw her, I thought she looked really pretty. Her hair was clean, her skin was flawless, her clothes were stylish, and of course her red eyes.
She must have noticed me looking at her, because she flipped me off for a second as she looked at me with a deadpan expression.
I sighed and looked down at my math notebook. We've had a lot of missing people for the past month. But, I can't let those get to my head. I mean, I still gotta work on the school play and continue studying for graduation.
But, it's affected a lot of people. People have lost, family members, friends, co workers, and more.
Time skip
I was at my locker, getting stuff for my next class. I was about to leave when I closed my locker, until someone grabs the back of my head and slams it into the locker.
"Ow! Fuck!"
Rubbing my forehead, I look behind me and see Payton. She was always the quiet type, so she didn't say anything. I was about to say something, but she push my head into the locker, now hurting the back of my head.
"What is your problem?!"
She just casually shrugged and walked away, making sure to bump into her shoulder into me to drop my supplies.
'Just wait until I get to a great college and you're stuck unemployed...'
I didn't want to get into any fights and risk detention. Or worse, suspension. Maybe even getting expelled if the school's feeling generous.
I groan and bend down to pick up my books and pencil case.
"Great... She stepped on my notebook..."
