Rain poured as the teenage boy held his one love. Puddles were forming around them on the ground, the boy's jeans were soaked from the knee down from kneeling on the ground. His dark hair plastered to his face, rain drops trickling down.

His dark skin made his striking eyes appear so beautiful." Y/n, come on... please. Get up. I'll get help, you'll be ok-"The girl dryly chuckled as she slowly raised her hand to hold is face. Her tears streaming down her cheeks. " No... I won't be. And you know...that's ok." She coughed.

The boy held the girl tighter to his chest. The girl looked down at her sodden white lace dress. It was now stained with red." Oh...man. My dress is ruined." She smirked. The boy rolled his eyes as he tried to laugh, more tears came." Always with the jokes." His voice strained. Y/n coughed more, and the boy's face scrunched in despair as he hugged her tightly, his wet hair dripping....." Promise me." She gasped. The dark-haired boy looked at her with desperate loving eyes. " Promise what?"" T-that when I die, you won't go back to being a shut in. You won't become what you were."

Sobs racked his body as he cried." I can't, Y/n without you I can't-"" No. Y-you-" She coughed again. " You don't get to use my death as an excuse to go back to being a recluse. T-that's not fair. All  my hard work would be wasted. I got you out of that dusty old basement. And into the world. Stay, for me alright? Stay. Live. Enjoy life. No more pouting by the past, ok?"" But this isn't the past Y/n, it's happening now. I can't... I can't lose you right now."

He looked away." It will be soon enough. Do you promise?"...." I promise." His voice cracked. The girl heaved her breath. " .... Good. Have fun, alright?" She smiled her gorgeous,
beautiful smile as her eyes fogged over. Her last breath taken. The boy clutched the girl close to him, sobbing as he rocked her body. The rain still poured in the small-town street." Y/n... please. I can't do this without you. Living... it's too hard."

He knew he had to keep his promise, no matter what. So, he did.
