The Gala of The Year

Rayne had given us folders full of things. Car keys, yes I am a proud owner of a white convertible, apartment keys that I will be sharing with my sisters, and cute batman credit card with all of its information and last but most of all, a wad of hundred dollar bills.

After receiving the invitation to ‘The Gala of The Year’ as Rayne put it we ran straight to our rooms to get ready.

While walking into the shower I began to think, what do I think I am doing? Do I really think I’m just going waltz my way through and bluff into acceptation? I’m not rich girl material, I am most definitely not a rich Daddy’s girl.

After getting out of my shower and washing my hair, I walked into my room and smiled when I saw Kat had already put my clothes on my bed for me.

I put on my white lace underwear and lace push up bra. I eyed the beautiful  silk fitted and flared beige dress. It had a delicate circular collar. Once I put it on, I felt wonderful with the silk on my skin. It fitted nice and tight all the way down till’ my knees, it then flared down gently until it reached a little under my knees. I put on a pair of red Louboutin heels my mother had given me a while back. I let down my hair from the bun and it bounced down my back. I applied a bit of foundation, mascara, and blue eyeliner. My mom used to say blue made my eyes stand out. I put dark red lipstick on my lips with a touch of gloss to make my lips sparkle.

“Damn! Who is this hot tamale! Que guapa estas! Girl if you don’t break a couple of hearts today then I don’t know what will!” Kat walked into the room and her presence filled the room with joy. She shook her head and chuckled.

Kat stood at just about my shoulder fixing her eye makeup looking into the mirror. She had a red pencil skirt that reached down until just above her knees. She had a white school girl button down with her collar slightly popped up. She had several gold necklaces, I noticed one was the old locked my mother had been given by my great grandmother. She had a 50’s pin up girl bun with the spiral thing I never understand how she does to perfectly resting on her head. She added a bit of pale pink lip-gloss onto her lips and pouted into the mirror.

“ You shouldn’t be talking, look at you! You look great by the way. Any man who doesn’t think that should get punched, twice in the eyes!”

She chuckled and grabbed my arm towards Ally’s direction. We found her sitting at her vanity putting on makeup. She smiled when she saw us coming.

“Well well well, if it isn’t my two smoking hot sisters!” She turned around and stood up. She opened her arms to show us her outfit. While turning around she asked, “How do I look?”

We looked at her as if she was crazy. She looked smoking hot! She looked like a beast! She had deep blood red pants on, which if I remember correctly were my grandmother’s pants. She had given them to her since she filled them out first. They were silk deep red Capri pants. She paired it with a chiffon wrapped silk camisole that just covered her belly button. She paired those with a simple black one strap heel and mother of pearl earrings. She had  deep red smoky eyes that highlighted her hazel eyes.

“ You’re not serious right? You look great. Your blonde hair curled like that! You look like Shakira. You look like you came out of an 80’s magazine .You are fabulous!” I gushed out at her and hugged her immediately.

          Things have changed between us…

She smiled at me and blushed. She’s too cute!

“C’mon girls we have a Gala to go to!” Kat bellowed already picking up our bags.

After a good 30 minutes of trying to find the damn place, we arrive at a staggering beautiful white building. It had floor to ceiling windows and we could see the long beige curtains on the other side. We saw the luxurious white women laughing quietly at a probably not even funny joke. Never did we see someone really laugh.

We handed the keys over to a valet parking guy. We curtly nodded at him and he smiled.

Kat snaked her arm around my waist smiled at my while raising her eyebrows at me. She knew the attention we were getting here. We are practically pups being thrown into a pack of hungry wolves.

“Okay there is a serious badass guy over by that blonde hag in the pink.” Kat whispered into my ear. Ally laughed lightly and sipped on her champagne.

“ You know this place is filled with old hags in that ugly pink color right Kitty?”

Kat rolled her eyes, whether it was to her nickname or what I actually said, I don’t really know yet. She said she was leaving to go find “a nice piece of ass” I swear to God that she is like a man sometimes.

After Ally abandoned me to go find Rayne and her kids, I was left alone in the corner of this big Gala. I was all alone, awkwardly standing there while idly picking at my nails to have something to do.

“ I don’t think I have met you before? What’s your name?” He smirked at me while putting his hand out for me to take.

I looked stunned for a moment at how stunning this man was. He had his  jet black hair slightly gelled back, only letting a couple of strands fall in front of his eyes. My hand almost went out to touch it.

I smiled at him and took his hand. “No. I haven’t met you before. Lucille. My name is Lucille.”

He ‘ahh-ed’ and kissed my hand. I felt my knees buckle and I swear to Jesus that if he didn’t remove his lips from my hand I would grab him and eat him up. He looked up at me, his perfect greenish eyes staring right at me.

“So you are the infamous Lucille Belle.” He dropped my hand gently and smiled warmly at me. His teeth were so white and straight I almost thought he was too perfect to be real.

“Hi!” Ally and Kat rushed to my side and greeted him at the same time. I smiled and looked up to the ceiling slightly. This is why you never get to meet new guys. I thought while biting my lip.

“These are my sisters. This is Ally,” I pointed at the mop of curls next to me, “ And this is Kat” I put my arm around Kitty.

He shook their hands and smiled at us. He nodded slightly at me and passed me a piece of folded paper.

“It was lovely to meet you but I gotta run now. I hope this isn’t our first encounter.” He winked at me. I gaped at him. Is he really hitting on me?! He noticed my expression and smirked at me.

He tipped his invisible hat at us before walking out of the door. Leaving us to stare at his lovely broad back that was covered in a leather jacket.

My sisters look amused and nudged me to open the the piece of yellow paper. It read:

Call me sometime?  Soren : (323)-567-2961

Speak to you later Sweet Cheeks

I stared at the damn note for what it felt was hours. So his name was Soren? Pretty cool name.

“Well this night isn’t as boring as I thought it would be.” I still stared at the note while nodding to Ally’s comment. I didn’t even need to look at her to know she was smirking at me.

“C’mon we need to find Rayne girls.” I put the note into my clutch and walked towards the familiar sound of laughter.
