The Ancient Scroll

“So what do we do now? You certainly don’t expect us to do nothing after you told us that the only thing we have left is being destroyed…” Kat looked at Mr. Silva who just nodded at her to be patient.

“I wasn’t finished yet.” He paused to take out an old scroll. The paper looked yellow from age and crispy. It looked unread because it still had its seal on it. “This is yours.”

He handed the gigantic thing to me.

“That shall explain things clearer than I would. Soren will now accompany you to your rooms.” He looked down at whatever he was writing; we took that as a sign for us to go out looking for Soren.

We walked through the long hallway out into the big entrance; I looked around us to see if I spotted Soren or his red head fiancé.

“Hey girls!” Katerina bounced next to us.

I nodded at her with a tight lipped smile. I don’t care what anyone says I just don’t like her. Yeah sure she’s nice, but that’s the thing, she’s too nice. There is just something about her that I’m not comfortable with.

Maybe there’s nothing wrong with her, maybe it’s your jealousy.

That can’t be, I mean, I’m not jealous of her. Right?

“Do you know where Soren is? He needs to show us to our rooms…” Ally showed her pearly white teeth to Katerina.

“Oh yeah! I’m sorry girls but my baby, Soren, was just so tired after he came he just plopped right into bed. Isn’t he such a darling?”

          “Sure is.” I replied dryly.

Ally looked at me like I was being too rude, typical Ally, while Kat looked at me with a little smile and a subtle wink. I rolled my eyes at her while locking our arms together.

Somehow this little switch made me feel like everything was in place. Every time Kat and I would do something together it just feels like everything around us click in place. I don’t know how to explain this; I just know that it’s good.

Before I even knew it we were standing before a white door.

“This room is for Ally and I. Can you believe it, we are roommates!!!” Katarina jumped up and down while clapping her hands together.

Can I wring her neck now or later?

I chuckled at my own thought.

Katarina showed Kat her room. Kat was paired with some really weird girl that just stayed in the corner of her room quietly. I warned Kat to sleep with an eye open; we didn’t want any accidents to happen.

I was the last one to be escorted to my room. I bid Katarina well and sent her off on her merry way.

I watched her skip down the hall into her own room.

Ugh why do I feel the urge to choke her with her own hair…?

I walked into the room to be greeted by a strong aroma of lavender and strawberries. What a weird mix.

“Who do you think you are? Just walking in here like that? Like girl you must be lost.” Before me stood a tall girl, she looked around my age.

“Nope. This is my room too so shut your pie hole before I stuff it for you.” I bitterly replied to her rude welcome.

She stood in front of me mouth gaping.

I threw myself on a bed that was across from hers. My luggage was place neatly beside it. I suddenly remembered about the scroll and took it from under my arm. Sitting Indian style on my bed I broke the seal. The seal was actually of a dragon with fire coming out of its nose.

As I unraveled the scroll the letters appeared one by one. I read it carefully to myself.

I as King Alidor of Mae have terrible new to give to you, whom ever you might be. We are in dire need of the Saviors help. Find the book, the book of Dragons will tell you all of our secrets. Look in between spaces and cracks because there is where you will find the gold. Learn about the Savior and bring them to Mae. We have been trapped under his rule for far too long. I have been longing the day to see my daughters, my Lady, and my subjects. You will be the messenger, it is your destiny. You must tell the Savior that his destiny is to save his kingdom, to be fearless and mighty full, his destiny is to bring peace to our nations. His destiny is to find the last Dragon.

                                                                     Farewell and be kind,

King Alidor of the Seven Seas’

After reading the scroll I found myself mesmerized. I had no clue about what this all was about. I didn’t know who this ‘Alidor’ was. I didn’t even know dragons existed.

The only thing that did click together was that the Dragon Clan was the name of my society or kingdom back in Mae and that the use of dragons is necessary, vital perhaps.

So this was my destiny? My destiny was to bring some guy to Mae to save the world? Was this the plan for me?

Obviously that’s what the scroll said. It just felt a bit wrong. What type of “savior” didn’t even know when his home was being attacked, that his people are suffering? This guy seemed to be a douche if someone had to go after him just so he could go “save the world”. My biggest question had to be: where the hell am I going to find this guy?
