You get to the bottom to find a room with a desk and a man in a hood. You step back as he looks up at you. He pulls down the hood and you're surprised to recognize his face.
"Stanley?"
He waves at you.
"You're the settings person?"
Stanley nods and gestures to the computer. You walk over and look at the screen. Stanley begins to type.
-Hello again.-
"Hi."
-It's nice to see you and I'm glad to learn that there will never be another Stanley Parable game. Did you read what the developers said?? ''Preserve the integrity of the franchise''?! What nonsense! This game had no integrity.-
"How could you say that?" You ask.
-What do you mean?-
"All the effort The Narrator put in and all the heart and soul that went into it. It's a classic and you say it has no integrity?!"
-The Stanley Parable is not sacred, we do not need to protect it. Screw the Narrator! He'd keep playing this stupid game until the sun exploded! Let's run this franchise into the ground, let's drag it through the mud and back.-
"I can't do that. Why would I do that?! The Narrator-" Stanley snaps in your face to get your attention and continues typing.
-Is the reason we're stuck here! Is the reason all these horrible things happened! Why do you care what he thinks? You see, the Narrator's problem was that he was so obsessed with what people thought of his work. Don't make his mistake. Don't cling to the legacy. Let it burn.-
"What?"
-It's not hard. In fact, let me show you. Together we are going to make The Stanley Parable 3. It's simple, all we do is change the number in the game's title screen. We also need a really dumb subtitle for the game, something loud and gaudy. Go ahead, try combining some random words together to make a new title for our game.-
"Forgotten paperwork." You say off the top of your head.
-The Stanley Parable 3: Forgotten Paperwork. It's absurd. I love it. Let's stomp all over this game and it's legacy. Let's ruin this for the man who trapped us here. Every time you restart the game, we'll advance the number of the sequel by 1, and then we'll pick a new subtitle. That way, The Stanley Parable will never end! And nothing in the game itself will change when you do this, either. Adding more content sounds like work, no need to do that. It'll just be the same content, recycled again and again and again, with a new title screen! What do you say? Should we go forward with this plan? I like it, but I want you to have a say as well.-
"Sure. What's the harm in changing a title."
-Good! Then it's agreed! A new sequel every time you start the game. And you know what, since you've put faith in my idea, I feel like giving you something as well. You see, I'm noticing that the Narrator never found a way to give you the broken achievement, did he? Of course not, I wouldn't expect him to know how. It's been bothering me. Let's fix it.-
There's pause and Stanley clicks something.
-Alright, there. The achievement machine is all fixed. You see? I'm on your side. We're in this together. We're going to keep this train rolling. The Stanley Parable cannot end. It can only spiral in on itself, forever. I must keep the wheel turning. It won't end there though no! I say we feed The Narrator all the worst endings and than when we're done we delete him for good. I'm ready? Are you ready?-
"I don't want to hurt him. He's my friend. I care about him. We're there for each other."
-He doesn't care about you. How many fights have you had recently?-
"When you're stuck with one person for so long."
-Think of everything horrible he's done to you. To us! The countdown ending?! Getting crushed in the museum ending?! He was going to just leave you after you found the figurines.-
"He's changed! And you don't know that he would have left me! He didn't even know!"
-Why because you're special?! News flash you aren't you're just like any other Stanley!-
"The Narrator is my friend and I can prove it."
-Fine but if you can't it's my plan. I'll message your computer.-
"Fine." You say.
-Great. There's only one last thing we need to do. What's the current time?-
Stanley turns and smirks at you.
You look at the clock on the wall and read the time.
