Eisa flopped onto the couch next to Chan. He looked over at her with a questioning look on his face. Eisa sighed and then sat up a bit.
"Does Minho stare at everyone like that?" She whispered, glancing to make sure Minho was still at the kitchen island and not lurking somewhere closer.
"What do you mean staring? Is he making you feel uncomfortable?" Chan whispered back and she could hear a tone of concern in his voice. She shook her head trying to find words to describe it.
"No, not exactly. More like I can't tell what he's thinking or what kind of person he is, I don't know. Sometimes he seems normal but then other times it's like there are not emotions at all in there." She pointed to her head. Chan chuckled and relaxed a bit.
"He's...unique. He doesn't really show his true self often. Even to us. He functions as my second in command and acts as an assassin when we need one." He saw Eisa's face and backtracked a bit. "We don't kill without reason. It's usually if someone is a danger to the family or causing trouble for the people under our care, bad people I guess you could say. We refuse to harm innocent people if we can help it." He felt like he was rambling now. "Just know that the way he is acting? It's his way of figuring you out. The fact that you got him laughing tonight means he at least likes you." Eisa turned away and hid a slight flush she could feel forming on her cheeks. Stop it Eisa. Not what he meant, she thought. No matter how handsome he is, this is not the time, place, or situation to have those types of thoughts. He's a damn assassin for god's sake. She calmed her thoughts and looked back at Chan who looked confused once again.
"Thanks, Chan, for explaining that. So um, Han mentioned a movie night?" She hoped she could steer the conversation away from Minho before Chan realized why she had avoided his gaze.
"Han! What movie?" Chan yelled over his shoulder. Eisa felt a weight to her left and looked over to find Minho sitting next to her. His arm was slung behind her on the couch, not touching her. He was staring ahead not acknowledging her at all. What is with this weirdo?
"Horror movie?" Han and Minho said at the same time, Han as he came into the living room from the kitchen and Minho as he continued to look forward.
"Train to Busan?" I.N. said hopefully. Chan laughed and ruffled the smaller man's hair. I.N. was seated next to Chan on Chan's right with Eisa on his left. Han, Changbin, Felix, and Seungmin occupied the other end of the couch with Han and Felix using each other's shoulders as pillows. Changbin looked over at Eisa with a smirk.
"If you don't like scary movies you can sit by me Eisa." He said as he flexed his impressive bicep. Seungmin snorted.
"You get more scared than Hyunjin does at zombie movies." Changbin put Seungmin in a headlock, messing up his hair. "Okay! You're very scary and no zombies would ever mess with you. Happy?" Changbin let Seungmin go looking pleased.
"I'm okay over here. I might need to protect Chan and Minho from the zombies. " Eisa said with a smirk. Minho snorted and Chan gave her a look of fake betrayal. She pinched Chan's dimpled cheek. "I know you are a big tough mafia boss who can take care of himself right?" This caused Chan to puff out his chest.
"You better believe it." Eisa rolled her eyes. She then jumped ever so slightly when she felt someone whisper into her ear. Minho's warm breath caused goosebumps to form on the back of her neck.
"You can hide in my shoulder if you get scared." When she looked back at him, his face was back to staring forward now watching the movie that had begun to play. She glared at him not dignifying him with a response.
She had never seen the movie before and to be honest, zombie movies kind of freaked her out. She tried her best to hide her fear and almost made it halfway through the movie. A zombie fell from the roof of a building near the main characters causing Eisa to yelp and turn her face away. The only problem was she turned it towards her left, which was Minho's shoulder. Before she could move away, she felt an arm snake around her shoulder holding her there.
"There are more jump scares coming up so you might want to stay there for a bit." She could hear him whisper into her hair. He smelled like sandalwood, bergamot, and another smell that she could barely detect, was it vanilla? Oh god, why was she sniffing him? Before she could whisper back something snarky, she felt his arm move back to the back of the couch. She sat back up and focused on the screen. She refused to look at him so that he could see how red her face was at this moment. Stupid cat. Why did he have to smell so good? She cursed herself again and refused to acknowledge the fact that she missed the warmth that his arm had given her.
The movie had a few more scares but she willed herself to remain unaffected which caused Minho to chuckle next to her. She looked over at him briefly shooting a glare at him, to which he met with a look of quiet amusement. As the movie ended, she stretched and looked over at the rest of the group. Felix and Han were fast asleep, and Chan was pulling a blanket onto I.N. who had fallen asleep on his shoulder. Chan threw on a nature documentary and pulled out his phone. Seungmin got up quietly trying not to wake the sleepers stating she would be in the lab, and bidding everyone good night. Changbin looked over at Eisa catching her eye.
"Want to go do some sparing?" Eisa was going to refuse but then she remembered a certain cat man who was sitting next to her. Feeling the need to blow off some steam, she nodded. To her dismay, as she got up to follow Changbin, Minho seemed to get up as well and follow them.
"Why are you following us?" She glared at him and whispered since they were still within earshot of the sleeping men.
"I need to get some target practice in, and the range is located right next to the gym. Don't get too excited, sweetheart." His voice held a note of amusement, but his face remained impassive. God, he's so infuriating. Eisa grabbed Changbin's arm and hugged it.
"Let's go Changbin I need to hit something." She pulled him along and he glanced over at Minho confused. Minho's face was impassive still but there was a glimmer of annoyance in his eyes.
