It was a blindingly bright morning, the sun shining persistently on Reggie's sleeping face. Not being able to take the sight of the inside of his eyelids anymore, He rose from his bed made of twigs and leaves neatly wrapped together with a simple vine.

"Morning sweetheart.", chirped Jenny, already having woken up some time ago.

"Mormin Honeyaa, go breafas yet?" Reggie yawned as he stretched, his words coming out as a jumble of sounds rather than a recognizable sentence.

"What was that Reg?" Reg. A now supremely familiar nickname given to him by his dear girlfriend, Jenny. He'd heard it a million times at this point, but it still managed to make his heart flutter. A gentle blush overtaking his cheeks, he repeated his question, now ready to seize the day.

"U-uhm, I said morning honey, got breakfast yet?" Jenny laughed softly, her husband's awkwardness always made her giggle, he was so cute when he got embarrassed.

"No not yet, I figured we could go get breakfast together.." Jenny quickly got the same familiar pink shade on her cheeks as Reggie.

"Aw, that's sweet of you Jen. That sounds like a great idea, should we drag along Ranger?" Reggie's joy and excitement were thinly disguised, and blatantly obvious even to the wind blowing by.

"I thought it could be just you and me for a change..." Jenny nervously crowed, her light feathers blowing gently in the wind. Reggie turned a deep shade of red, a stark contrast to his usual light blue. He eyed the ground anxiously, idly kicking up dust.

"O-oh, tha-at sounds, uhm," Reggie paused, clearing his throat. "That sounds great Jen!" Jenny smiled and waved her wing for him to follow her. They threaded through the densely packed flock, weaving between beds strewn about the ground and narrowly dodging turkeys on their way to their morning activities for the day. Reggie watched Jenny's beautiful feathers shining in the morning sun, complimented by the simple seashell dangling from a string wrapped neatly around her neck. All seemed to be peaceful, but a strange sense of uncertainty couldn't help but gnaw away at their spirits.
