Brooklyn POV

I was listening to my music when my brother and sister walked up to me. "What?" I asked when my brother, Boston, pulled out my earphone.

"Can we go to the mall after school?"

"N!gga if you don't leave me alone. I'm not your parent. Go ask your mother."

"Dang you didn't have to yell." My sister, China said.

"I actually did." I said putting my earphones back in listening to the Empire soundtrack.

Then after I got my bookbag I walked to school. I dropped my bookbag once I got around the corner. I bent down to pick it up and then my headphones fell out my ear.

"D*********mmmnn." I heard whoever was behind me. After I picked my book bags up, I turned around to see October... Aka Mr. Alsina. I looked at him.

"Can I help you?" I asked looking at him up and down.

"Yes. Can you please give me some love?"

I smirked and turned around and walked away. I heard him behind me.

"Please Brooklyn. I want to date you."

"Sure you do. I know you only want my body." I said. I saw him licking his lips.

"I don't want you for your body."

" Then why you looking at me like I'm a piece of chicken?" I asked looking at him.

He smiled. "I'm not."

"Yeah ok." I said continuing to walk away.

I heard him walking behind me.

"Don't be looking at my a** my n!gga." I said causing him to laugh.

August POV

Once we were in class, I turned around to look at Brooklyn. She wasn't paying no attention to me. Although she was right behind me.

Once she saw me staring at her, she stuck her middle finger up.

"I would love to." I said cheesing.

"You're a f*ck boy." she said.

"Don't call me that. It's hurtful."

"Idgaf." she said working on her work again.

"I like you though."

"Prove it August."

"Alright."

I stood up. "You guys. I like this girl name Brooklyn Hurd and I want to go on a date with her and she won't say yes.... Can y'all tell her I'm perfect for her?" I asked. The class stared at me.

"N!gga if you don't sit yo a** down. Why you acting like you a true gentleman?" Ty asked.

"Shut up n!gga." I said looking at him. I turned around to face the class. "Please tell her that I'm perfect for her." I pleaded with the class. One of my exes... I think Abbey kissed her teeth.

"I don't think she wants to be with you."

"Just because you're asking them for the yes they're never going to say, I'm never going to be with you." Brooklyn said getting up and moving away from me. Dang. I really wanted a chance with her.

Brooklyn POV

Once I got home, I was cleaning up the kitchen. My mother came in. She smelled really bad.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Cleaning up. What are you doing?"

She sighed. "You got money?" she asked putting the dishes in the cabinet.

"No. Damien took the rest." I mumbled.

"What? Oh when that happened.."Damien was my ex. He was a player. Which is why I won't date August. Because I can tell he's a player. Well Damien and I were dating for about 2 years when I told him I loved him. He then started acting strange. Then he came to my house and then robbed me and my family. I said from that day on that I would never date a player again. I sticking to what  I said. So now I'm just looking for the right guy.

"Yeah. When that happened.."

"Did they ever find him?"

"Nope."

"Oh I hope they do. What he did was wrong. Nobody deserves what he did to you."

"I know ma."

Then somebody rang the doorbell. I looked out the window. It was August. Of course, this boy done found my house. I opened the door. He looked at me. Shocked. "What?" I asked crossing my arms. Realizing I only had on a tank top.

"I didn't know you lived next to me." He said holding a cup. "I just wanted to know if I could have a cup of milk."

I looked at him. "Whatever."  I said walking to the kitchen. He followed me.

"My friend used to live next to me."

"Oh that's cool."

"Can I learn something about you?" he asked when I started pouring milk in the cup.

"I live with my mother and grandmother. My father has been missing for a while. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Anything else you wanna know?"

"I wanna know if you're free next weekend?"

"Here." I handed him the cup of milk. "See you tomorrow in class." I said avoiding his questions.

"Brooklyn please tell me."

"Get out. You got your milk."

"Alright." He left. Then my phone vibrated. I got 2 new texts. One from unknown number and the other from a number I know too well. Damien.
