Brooklyn POV
As I took a bite of my bagel, August came down the steps. he looked at me and smiled. It was a Sunday. My mother went to work. As usual my sisters were over the house. Trying fix breakfast. But they didn't know how to fix eggs. They didn't want my help. So I didn't offer to help them. August sat across from me. I looked at him.
"Wassup?" he asked.
"Nothing. Waiting for my sisters to finally decide that they wanna order breakfast from Olympia IV."
"Oh that's wassup."
"yeah cuz you just asked me." I said smiling. He smiled back. My phone vibrated. I looked at it. It was my mother. She texted me.
I won't be coming home tonight. I sighed.
"What's wrong?" August asked.
"My mother said she isn't coming home tonight."
"But how would she know if it's only 11:30."
"She usually goes out after work and goes drinking. She doesn't come back for days. That's why my sisters usually come out on Sundays. So there is an adult here."
"Why is your family so broken?"
"I told you before. My father is missing. There's nothing I can do to make this family any better."He looked at me as I finished my bagel. "Come on. Let's go out."
"N!gga. where?"
"Out. Get dressed."
"i haven't even eaten breakfast."
"I'll buy you food. Come on. I want you to relax. I know you don't have it easy so I wanna make you relax for a while."
"I don't know. I don't want my sister's to cuss us out."
"They're not even that scary."
"If you say so. Let me go ask." I said getting up and going in the kitchen. Both of my sisters looked at me.
Catalina looked at me. "What do you want?"
"I want to go out."
"It's not even f*cking 12 yet." Catalina said.
I turned to August. "i told you." I said running upstairs. I heard him running after me. I closed my door before he could get any closer.
Short but my mother is making me get off the computer. Catalina and Cheyenne in the mm.
