August POV

It's been a while since Brooklyn talked to me. We still ive together but, she never looks at me. I know she feels me staring at her. She got a job a little while after the incident/ I don't know where she works. All I know is that China and Boston work with her. She got a car and she's been a lot more secretive. China won't talk to me. Boston won't talk to me. Nobody but the twins will.

It was getting closer to our graduation date. Brooklyn is in the house less and less everyday. I don't talk to Tyga no more. Chris told me what he was planning to do. He was trying to drive a wedge in between me and Brooklyn. I tried to tell her but she wasn't up for it.

I walked downstairs to hear Boston on the phone. ".. moving as soon as she graduates." I heard him say. He looked at me when he heard me get closer. He rolled his eyes and got up and went outside. This has been my life for the past 3 months. I grabbed a yogurt and a water bottle. I grabbed my bookbag and started walking to school. I could see Brooklyn. She was walking with Chris. He saw me. He said something to Brooklyn. She looked back at me. Then turned back quickly. I sped up to get closer to them. I was close enough to them that I could hear a little bit of their conversation.

"Where are you going?" Chris asked.

'I'm moving into the city. I want to get away. I feel like I deserve it."

"You do. You deserve the whole world. I'm sorry they did that to you."

"You don't need to apologize. They do."

"About that. August wants to talk to you." I heard Chris say.

"I know. But I really don't want to talk to him."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Because I have this feeling that I don't know how to explain whenever I see him."

"Like what?" Chris asked.

She paused. She looked at me. Then lowered her voice. I couldn't hear her anymore.

"WHAT?!?" Chris said. He stopped walking. She looked at him.

"Shhh." she said pulling him to keep him walking.

"Brooklyn I don't know your middle name Hurd. You feel that way?" he said loudly.

"If you don't quiet down, I'm going to f*ck you up." she said looking at him.

"Alright. Alright."

After breakfast, we headed to class. Brooklyn sat in her usual seat. I sat in mine. It was quiet until someone started playing a song that was familiar.

"I keep on fallin'

In and out of love
With you
Sometimes I love ya
Sometimes you make me blue
Sometimes I feel good
At times I feel used
Lovin you darlin'
Makes me so confused

I keep on
Fallin'
In and out of love with you
I never loved someone
The way that I love you." Brooklyn sang horribly. I smiled. She walked up to me. "I may hate you. But I want to ask you to forgive me. This doesn't mean that I want to date you. I just want us to be friends." she said.

"I respect that." I said. She smiled.  "Brooklyn, can I talk to you in the hallway though?" I asked her. She nodded her head. We stood out in hallway.

"Wassup?" she asked.

"What is it this I hear about y'all moving?"

She looked on the floor. "I'm moving deeper into the city." she said.

"why?"

"I just want to be alone. With the people I love."

"But you just said that you love me. Why can't I come?"

"Because, you stress me out."

I sighed. "When are you leaaving?"

"After graduation." she said. I thought about when Boston said it on the phone.

"I don't want you to leave."

'I'm sorry. I just.. I just want to stay away. I love you to death but something about us together isn't working right. We aren't the perfect match. You need to find someone that makes you happy."

"You make me happy!"

"I can't say the same about you right now."

I looked away from her. "But you said that you love me."

"I do love you. But it doesn't mean that I'm happy. Maybe we can get together if you make me happy."

"Well if it isn't now, I don't want to be with you." I said. She stared at me.

"Alright." she said walking into the classroom.
