Avi groans in pain as she crawls out of the destroyed helicopter. She calls out for the others, or at least the pilot. She hears screams and cries from the pilot, who is being attacked by a zombie. She stumbles to her feet, shooting the zombie, but it was too late. He began to writhe on the ground as he was turning, his eyes white and milky and his teeth ready to puncture someone skin. Avi shakes her head and closes her eyes as she lifts her gun, looking away as she shoots what had been the pilot in the head. Better to put him out of his misery than let him suffer. She lifts her gun once more, hearing rustling in the bushes behind her.

"Hey, it's us!" Danny calls, his head bleeding from the impact.

"Oh thank god." She sighs in relief to see her friends alive.

"Where's the pilot?" Bella asks.

Avi motions to the lifeless zombie on the ground, dead with a bullet in his head. "He was attacked. I tried to save him, but I was too late... I had to shoot him..."

"Oh my god.." Trixy whispers.

"What now? We don't have a pilot, the copter's wrecked beyond repair, we're in the middle of the woods and have no idea where we are, and it's the middle of the night!" Danny yells in anger and frustration.

"We start walking. We can't stay here, there could be more zombies narrowing in on us. And there could be a cabin or barn nearby."

"Look around Avi! Face it! We're lost and we're dead!"

"No we're not! Yes we're lost. But we are not dead! I'm not letting anyone else die out here!" She snaps. "Now come on. We gotta get moving." She says as she and the others start walking.

The moon shines through the trees, casting an eerie glow over the woods. The sun begins to rise as they continue walking, tired and hungry. After a few more hours of walking, they reach the end of the woods, and a small farm stands before them. Cattle, pigs, horses, and chickens all stand accounted for as they look around the farm. The fence still seems intact, and the tractor sits on the field, completely untouched, yet the place looks abandoned, with no human life around. They check the house, a decent sized one for a farm, and yet still no sign of people.

"We'll set up here. It's small, easy to defend, and it'll give us a source of food and water." Danny directs. "Me and Isaac can stay in one room, and you three can stay in the other two."

The girls agree and find each of their rooms, placing what little stuff they have where they like. Bella heads to the kitchen and the smell of eggs and bacon with corn fills the house. Curious to what the smell could be, Danny stumbles inside, his mouth watering at the smell and sound of bacon sizzling.

"Smells amazing. Where did you learn to cook, Bella?"

"My mom. She was a nurse and a great chef." She grinned proudly. "I just hope she's survived this long like we have."

"I'm sure you'll find her eventually." Danny tried to reassure her, a small, soft smile on his face.

"I hope so." Bella sighs. "Dinner's ready!" She calls upstairs and is answered by the sound of feet running and stumbling into the dining room.

"It looks delicious Bella. Thank you." Trixy thanks her.

"Of course." She chuckled, placing the food on the table. "I made plenty so dig in." She grins, and everyone does just that.

Once everyone is happy and satisfied, Bella takes her little brother to bed, and the others don't think that's a bad idea, soon following suite. Trixy is asleep the moment she hits her pillow, as is Bella. Danny lays awake for a few minutes before falling asleep, and Avi stares at the ceiling for an hour, before finally letting herself drift off to sleep.
