Apocalypse

An odd discovery

Danny, Isaac, Bella, and Trixy stop just under a small railway.

"Danny..? What do we do now..?" Bella asks, her throat tight from what had just happened. They'd just lost Avi, and were now down a person.

Danny stands there for a moment. "We make camp here and keep moving in the morning." He directs.

The three agree and help make up camp with boxes for barriers and Danny makes a small fire. But while they're all asleep, Danny wakes to the sound of snarling and growling, and a zombie jumps out at him, with no time to reach his gun. A shot rings out though, and someone walks over to him.

"You really let go if you didn't even set up a watch person." The figure chuckles, and the voice sounds incredibly familiar. As they get closer to the fire, Danny and the others are able to make out who it is.

"Avi?!" She was standing right in front of them. But her skin looked somewhat decayed, her veins were showing, her teeth were thick and sharp, she was a zombie alright. "How are you- you're- we saw you turn!" Danny stumbled over his words, trying to make sense of it.

"I did. I have no idea how this happened either. I just somehow have more control over myself." Avi shrugged.

Trixy rushed to her, hugging her tightly and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "We thought you were gone for good!" She cried, and Avi started blushing from the kiss.

"Oh god, how are we gonna explain this to your brother?! He's not expecting you to be a zombie! And they'll try and experiment on you!" Bella exclaimed.

"She's right." Danny sighed.

"I'll be fine. For now, you guys get some more sleep. We finish out the trip tomorrow." Avi said calmly. "I'll keep watch since I don't need to sleep anymore." She giggled.

"Alright." Danny sighed. "I'm glad you're still with us." He grinned slightly before heading to bed with the others while Avi stayed up to keep watch. They had a long day ahead of them tomorrow.
