The five friends hastily left the city, Isaac intrigued by avi's new look. He stood by her the whole day, unfazed by the fact that she was now the very creature that had been trying to kill them the past two years. Avi didn't mind it. In fact she enjoyed the boys presence. She wondered if this was how Max must've felt when she was little. When Isaac grew tired, Avi picked him up, placing him and carrying him on her back, seeing as she couldn't get fatigued anymore. She stopped and listened, thinking she'd heard something. And that something was a gun cock.

"Everyone get down!" She called, taking the little boy from her back and shielding him with her body, her right arm protecting her head.

Gunshots rang out, and they screamed in the chaos. Soon it was quiet again though, and soldiers upon soldiers rushed out of the bushes and trees surrounding them. They didn't go after Danny, Trixy, or Bella. In fact they went right past them. They stopped, having surrounded Avi and Isaac, who clung to his zombified friend, terrified by the soldiers. Avi reached for her gun, but stopped. She understood their motives. She lowered her weapon, putting the safety on and scooting it towards one of the soldiers in front of her. She put her hands over her head, and Isaac ran to his sister.

"Hold your fire! Do not shoot!" A voice called out, and Avi immediately recognized the voice. "Avi?"

"Max!" She cried in relief to see her older brother in front of her. She ran to hug him, embracing him tightly.

"What happened to you?! How are you- what are you-"

"It's a long story. One I'll do my best to explain once we're not out in the open." She said calmly.

Max took a deep breath and nodded, tilting his head slightly, motioning for them to follow him. He lead them to a large building, windows in almost every room. The center was a large court area, trees growing in the center, and benches on the ends by the walls. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of people wandered the halls, but all stopped to stare at one of them in particular. He led them to a series of bedrooms, assigning one to each of them. Then he looked to his little sister.

"I want you to tell me everything that's happened in the past two years." He said bluntly, and Avi agreed.

She motioned him into her room and sat him down on her bed. She began to tell him everything. About when it started, how she and the others had survived for so long, how they met Bella and Isaac, and especially about the recent ambush, and how she'd been infected and turned.

"I don't understand all of it either. And honestly I was hoping you'd be able to assist me." She mumbled, fiddling with her hands. This had always been a terrible habit for her even when she was still 'alive'.

"I can try and see if our scientists can figure something out, though it would mean experimenting on a lot of factors."

"If it gets me some answers, I'm willing to do almost anything." Avi assured him.

Max sighed at his sister's determination and rose to his feet. "Alright then." He huffed. "I'll set something up for you and our scientists here soon. For now, go ahead and get settled in." He stopped in the doorway and looked at his sister. "Welcome home Avi. I'm glad you're finally here." He smiled at Avi, who grinned brightly in return.

"Good to be home."
