JayDick: The Return

Forgive Me

"I can't do this" Jason repeated over and over again in his head as he left the hotel, moving quicker than the bat of an eye. He was ashamed of himself, but he was heartbroken. The man he loved threw everything away between them. A near 5 short years the two had loved each other. High School sweethearts in a sense. The sudden split between the two was still so shocking to him, but he tried to understand. Dick just lost yet another parental figure to him. The same one that took him in at his lowest. Jason had to fix this. "I'm not giving up on you Dick, I'm not giving up on us." He said aloud as he fumbled for the keys to his luxury car in his pocket.

"Mr. Wayne-" A secretary starts. Grabbing Dick's attention. "I'm so sorry I meant Mr. Grayson- I guess I haven't still processed this yet sir. Anyways, your fiancé is in the front office, asking to speak to you." She states. He doesn't reply. "Mr. Grayson?" She asks again.

He looks up. "Sorry. Yes send him in." Dick closes out of the tabs on the screen in front of him, collecting himself as the large oak door in front of him opened once more, revealing the most beautiful man in Dick's eyes classed with dark raven hair, a maroon shirt that clung to his arms with such precision, tight jeans that wrapped the mans body perfectly a well placed rip at the knee, with dark matte black boots to finish the look. Finally he speaks. "Dick I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry I walked out. I was being too hasteful and I'm sorry, I'm not ready for 'this' to be over between us." Jason says with such sorrow and pain behind the tone of his voice. "I love you, and I was expecting you to just 'get over this' because of the love you have in your heart for me. I can't expect that out of you, you're mourning and I tried to rush it. I'm not leaving, no matter how badly you want me to. I'm here for you, and I plan to be here for the rest of our lives. You're the love of my life Dick Grayson. I shouldn't have said what I said, and I'm hoping you'll let me be there for you again-" Jason sniffles.

"Jay you were right- the moment you walked out of those doors I realized that I had just let the one cornerstone of my life that I'm more proud of than anything I can accomplish physically. You were right, I'm not Bruce-" He tears up the words coming next hard for him to gutter out of his lips. "I'll never be him, nor will there ever be anyone like him. Jay this is so hard for me. I don't know what to do. I feel like the weight of the world is laying itself down onto me and I don't know how to carry this alone-" He starts crying as he knows Jay is right there for him. "I let you go, I lost him. Now I have to do everything he did and more, I don't know how to handle this. Everything the Batman and Bruce prepared me for and I don't know how to do this."

Jay walks over to embrace Dick in his arms, Dick crying more under his touch, burrowing his face upon Jason's shoulders. "You don't have to do this alone dickie. Remember, me and you against the world right? I don't think anyone or anything could have ever prepared you for this, but the universe can put people into your life to help you along the way, to figure it out with you. I'm sorry I got so emotional about you not being the same person as you were. I was being selfish. I'm sorry, but I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere."

"I'm sorry I didn't save room for us in all of this. I tried being Bruce thinking that would help me understand how he did it all, but it did nothing but bring pain to me. I have to do this my way, and I need you there every step of the way Jay. I love you and I'll never stop." Dick saying tears still falling as he stares into Jason's eyes noticing the smile across Jason's face. Jason wipes the tears from Dick's face. "I love you more than the world could ever know Grayson." He and Dick place their temples against each other both smiling before they kiss embracing each other.

"So is the role of the fiancé still up for grabs?" Dick jokes leaving the kiss, both yearning for more. 

"For you? Always." Jason laughs rummaging for the ring he was given earlier in his pocket, finding it, getting on one knee yet again. "Now I mean it this time- Will you marry me?" He smiles.

"Fuck you" Dick laughs, more tears flowing from him once again. "Of course I'll marry you." Jason puts the ring on Dicks left hand, looping around the immortal finger of love. "Had to make me cry again didn't you Jay?" Dick pushes Jason down kissing him as they both lay on the floor embracing each others company.
