Two Hearts (Joyce Byers x Fem Reader)

Hospital

After you, Hopper, El and Joyce had found Will and saved him, you had rushed him to the hospital.

And the four of you were in the waiting room along with the boys, Jonathan, Mike, Dustin and Lucas.

Just then, the doctor comes out and announces that three people at a time can see Will.

You place a hand on Joyce's arm, "Go on, Joyce. You deserve to be there for him first.".

She nods and stands up, approaching the doctor.

"And we can accommodate 2 others if they would like to see Mr.Byers as well.".

Joyce turns to you and the rest of the gang.

"Y/N? Jonathan? Do you guys wanna come with?" she asks.

Jonathan nods and gets up to stand beside his Mother.

You think for a moment.

She wants you to be there for her and her son?

She chose you as one of the first people to see him?

Not Hopper or one of Will's friends.

You.

You find your mind wandering for a few seconds about having some more time with Joyce and you decide to agree.

You nod, "Of course.".

You stand to follow behind Joyce and Jonathan as they head down the hospital hall, stopping at Will's door.

Joyce meets your eyes for a moment before opening the door to let you and Jonathan inside.

Then, you three sit down in chairs beside Will's hospital bed.

Joyce reaches out to gently wrap her fingers around his hand, "Hey, Will." she says, her voice cracking.

Will turns his head to smile at Joyce, "Hey mom. Who's that?" he asks, pointing to you.

She chuckles softly and replies, "That's Y/N. She helped save you, baby!".

Joyce beams at you as Will says, "Thank you, Y/N. Thank you, so much.".

Joyce sniffles.

"Hey, bud. It's John." whispers Jonathan.

Will smiles at him, "Nice to see you again, Jonathan. I missed all of you.".

Joyce stands up, "Is it okay if Y/N and I talk in the hall for a little bit, baby?".

Will nods, "Just be back soon, Mom. I love you.".

You can see Joyce holding back tears as she replies, "I-I love you too, sweetheart.".

Then, you stand up too as she leads you out into the hallway.

The doors on both sides of the hall are closed and nobody else in the hospital is making a noise as Joyce leans against the wall in front of you.

"You...You saved him. My baby boy. I can't express how much that means to me, Y/N." she whispers, her voice cracking as a tear falls from her eye.

You reach up to wipe it away with your sleeve.

"And I'd do it again in a heartbeat." you say.

As you bring your arm down from wiping her tears away, she gently grasps it.

Softly, you gasp as you feel her fingers press themselves against your skin.

The feeling gives you goosebumps.

"But... I can't keep lying to myself." she begins, "I understand if you reject me and never talk to me again but... just hear me out, please.".

You slowly nod, "Of course, Joyce. Go on.".

She takes a deep breath, "I... I think I love you. I can't get you off of my mind and I feel like I'm in high school again. I've had a crush on you since the day you walked through that door and I trust you. I've only known you for a few weeks but... I love you. I want to be with you, Y/N.".

She...wants you?

Joyce Byers...

Wants...

You?

"Do you mean that?" you ask.

"Yes. I love you, Y/N." she replies softly.

You're shocked, but you quickly say, "I-I feel the same, Joyce. I always have. I think I love you too. I want to be yours.".

She breathes a sigh of relief.

"Then be mine, sweetheart. Be mine." she whispers before wrapping her arms around your neck, her face nearing yours.

Then, you allow her to kiss you.

Her lips press up against yours.

They're so soft and gentle.

You place your hands on her hips as she continues to kiss you for a few seconds more.

Then, you both pull away.

You can see she's blushing heavily and you can feel your cheeks heating up.

Her eyes meet yours as she looks up at you.

"That was amazing. I've never kissed a girl before." she breathes.

"Get used to it, Joyce. Because now, I'm all yours" you reply.
