Being in love was the best feeling in the world. Peter wanted to scream it from the rooftops, call it from the empire state building: He loved and he was loved back. He had never been happier than he was in his boyfriend's arms, their naked bodies interlaced tightly, skin against skin, his head laying in the crook of Liam's neck while the boy was slumbering deeply. Peter couldn't fall asleep. His body and mind were still proceeding with what had just happened and his thoughts were layered thick in steamy memories tinted bright pink and fluffy.
He was so in love that the feeling was almost too much. And he could spend the rest of his life laying here, watching Liam's face gently twitch and his eyes roll behind the closed lids. And he felt his big hand on his low on his hips that was refusing to let go of him just as much as Peter's on the other's thigh, fingers slightly moving in the rhythm of the boy's dreams. There was not a single doubt that Liam loved him just as much. Not with everything he had done to him, every soft word whispered into the other boy's ear.
Peter was so thankful, his heart could burst with gratitude. He didn't dare to move, afraid to wake Liam, so he just lay there, observing his boyfriend with heart eyes, enjoying how the rising sun was illuminating the golden boy in his arms. The peace was only disturbed as his alarm rang, blurring the two lovers to get up and ready for school. Peter internally cursed it but only until Liam let out a sleepy groan while stretching his limbs, a grin forming on his lips as he noticed the warm skin under his palm. And when his green eyes flickered open, they glistened at Peter with the doofy intensity of the afterglow.
"This is a really good morning," he announced, voice raspy. Peter smiled at him.
"You think?"
"Oh yes," Liam grinned, his hand wandering places where it had been at home the night before.
"And it can get even better." Peter could melt at this moment, just melt away like wax in the sun, the heat rising to his freckled cheeks and elsewhere.
"We have to go to school." he hesitantly pointed out just before his breath hitched in his throat.
Liam didn't look like he minded as he shifted his body to the side so he could watch the blush accompanied by the dreamy gloss in Peter's eyes. And Peter would agree that his intentions were way more exciting than what high school could offer, but he was still Peter Parker and he cared about his education. Also, if he wouldn't get out of bed in time, May would come in and that would be just unfortunate.
So Peter pushed his boyfriend's hand off his body, regardless of how wrong that felt.
"We really need to go." he softly demanded and Liam rolled his eyes. "You're so fucking responsible."
he whined.
"But sadly, I love you."
"sadly?" Peter tilted his head.
"You don't always have to be right," Liam said, nudging Peter's shoulder with his forehead.
With another chuckle, Peter peaked the crown of his head, then buried his nose into golden hair that smelt so amazing of ginger and jasmine, the scent of Liam's favorite shampoo. Peter could breathe it in all day but hated how easily it had distracted him from his plan.
So with a sigh, he peeled himself off his boyfriend fully and slid his body. Out of bed. As his feet met the floor he turned around, only now noticing how tangled that night on the single bed must have been as Liam still looked weirdly folded. And the boy grinned up at him, flickering his gaze over Peter's very naked body in appreciation, making the boy blush deep pink. He wasn't used to that kind of attention yet so he awkwardly shuffled into a new pair of boxers as soon as possible.
"Come on." he reminded his boyfriend with a shy little smile.
"Please. I don't wanna be late."Yet they were. Exactly 5 minutes and as they sneaked into class, Peter felt like everyone knew the reason. He held his head low, avoiding eye contact with any of his peers until he had reached the safety of his seat. Liam on the other hand had strutted into the room as if he owned the place, giving the other teens nothing out of the ordinary to wonder about. He send his boyfriend a wink as he slid into his seat in front of Peter's. And just like that, the others lost interest in the two, at least everyone except for Gwen Stacy who kept her gaze firmly on Liam.
Peter was used to it by now, he still couldn't blame her and a little malicious smirk spread on his lips when he thought about where the boy of her dreams had spent the night and all the things he had made him do.
But he quickly dismissed it. Liam loved him, that was all that mattered. Gwen could look at him all day long, that wouldn't change that quickly. Peter's heart had high trust in all the sweet nothings Liam had whispered into his ear. And every loving gaze his boyfriend sent over his shoulder meant the world to him. And when Liam left him on the bleachers to go see the principal on what he called an important matter, Peter was waiting like a puppy for him to return, his gaze going through sports team training and right into his memories. It was his spider-sense that pointed out as someone approached and he looked up at Gwen sitting down next to him, clasping a book to her chest tightly.
"Hey Peter, did you see Liam?
Peter nodded as he screwed open the lid of the apple juice he had brought outside in hopes of having a romantic little lunch picnic with his boyfriend.
" He had something to talk to the principal about"he answered quietly.
"So you're waiting for him?"
Peter nodded again as he brought the bottle up to his lips to take a first sip of the sweet juice.
"Do you mind if I wait with you?" Gwen asked, eyeing him from the side.
At that, Peter shook his head and took another sip. He really didn't.
There was an awkward pause between them and a weird tension grew which Gwen disturbed with another, pressing question that hit him like a bullet.
" So, Liam's your boyfriend?"
Peter's eyes shot wide in shock, feeling exposed.
"What? Why would you think that?" he rambled in a desperate attempt to save the situation to his advantage and protect his still blossoming relationship.
"You smell like his perfume," Gwen smirked, tilting her head while inspecting his facial expression closely.
"I don't," he denied despite knowing better. He had basically bathed in the other boy's scent.
" Yes, you do." Gwen kept pushing Jim further.
Peter shook his head violently. He really needed an award for the worst acting performance ever delivered as he sure as hell felt like he deserved it. He was acting suspicious but he just couldn't quit. Too much was at stake. And finally, Gwen adjusted her gaze, watching the other teens running around the pitch.
"Ok, it's okay if I asked him out then?"
"hmm?" Peter hummed, quickly taking another sip as his throat felt strangely dried out.
"Because I love him"
And Peter choked. The juice ran through his nose, tingling as it passed through like the stream of a fountain. He coughed loudly, glancing up at Gwen big-eyed.
"I knew it! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." she smiled at him fondly.
"I promise." Peter blinked at her. He was completely and utterly astonished by her.
"Don't worry, you're not that obvious to the others," she added in a conspirative whisper.
Peter was too dumbstruck to speak. He just stared at her in panic.
Meanwhile, Liam approached and plopped down on his other side.
" Hey Gwen" he greeted, casually leaning in front of Peter to look at her.
"Hi," she beamed at him."I just wanted to tell you my father was delighted with your offer and is happy to sign the contract."
" Wonderful, Pepper will send you the details. " Liam drawled, steeling the rest of the Apple juice, emptying it in one go.
Peter felt like he had gone off the wrong station or missed the train completely. His gaze wandered between his boyfriend and the girl as she chuckled.
" Don't worry. "Liam leaned closer to whisper in his ear.
" She doesn't know more than you."
"But I do know that you're Spider-Man, though." Gwen gave the boy a final wino before rising to her feet. Peter stared after her. Know he had completely lost it.
"She's seen you on her balcony, Romeo." Liam crackled as he leaned back, tilting his head into the sun with closed eyes while a hand sneaked around Peter where no one could see it.
