Belleville could only be described as a mess of colours, lights and any kind of the most cliché chistmas decorations you could imagine.... Everything was set up for the expected christmas break.
Which was something Rose wasn't specially happy about.
She wasn't specially happy about anything these days, but this wasnt a good thing either, so it just made it worse.
Lets just say that her parents, despite having a very busy life, had managed to get some holidays in christmas, and at first you might see it as a good thing, but it wasnt a good thing, whatsoever.
Because... What is even better than having a very well paid work which allows you to cross the ocean so you can visit your family?
This might not make sense at first, anyone would see that as a good thing.
Except for Rose, who despite missing her old friends, knew that not spending christmas in Belleville would hurt her a lot more.
"Oh Gosh Rosie we're so excited to see you again!!" A couple of high voices shouted in her phone.
"Me too girls... I should've ringed more often... I've been... Busy. I know I promised I'd keep in touch." She spoke with her voice low, a weird aura of tiredness, sadness and rage surrounded her these days and no one could deny it.
"Oh don't apologise hun, it's okay! This has been very harsh for everyone and we know it! We miss you as much as you miss us!!" She cringed at the loud noise and held te phone away from her ear.
"Okay guys... Hope to see you soon... Yes... Take care.. Yeeep... Bye... Huh." She hung up and tossed her phone lazilly to the other end of the bed and let her body fell on the matress with a sigh.
"I don't want to leave." She thought aloud, rolling around and hugging a pillow to her chest.

ROSE'S POV
"Oh shit!" Was the first thing that came to my mind along with a giggle, when I stepped out the front door the last day of school before the oh so exciting christmas holidays.
"Mum... It's... It's snowing." I said with a smirk on my lips taking a deep breath.
God bless the cold. I've never been a hot seasons kind of girl, I hate high temperatures and anything related to hot and summer.
This is one of the few good things that have happened lately.
The fact that our plane leaves tomorrow suddenly came to my mind and the unexpected happiness flew away quickly.
There's no point on finding the good side of this... Even though I'm seeing my old friends I'll miss my new friends a lot more.
I'll even miss Frank.
That reminds me that Im not telling them Im leaving either. Its better that way... They'll find it out, eventually.
I tried to not focus on my messed up head in first place and just enjoy the feeling of my boots sinking into the snow as I walked up the street and the cold air freezing my nose as I took deep breaths.
"Ouch!!!!" I screamed and squirmed when I felt the wet and cold body hit the back of my head.
Someone just hit me with a snowball.
I turned around, and smiled.
"Hey there Rosie!!" The tall boy cheered, a toothy grin on his face.
"Hi Ray." I waved as I watched him approaching. He had a long thick coat and had managed to cover his huge afro with a huge wool mesh.
"What are you doing here? It's so early!" He asked scratching his head and laying a hand on my shoulder.
