-GERARD'S POV-
I woke up that monday, in a bit different mood.
Everything seemed to be calm and... Good.
I shrugged off the duvet from my body and stepped out from the bed, and while I was heading to the door, I noticed the little window in the corner of my roof.
I haven't opened that since I moved to the basement, and I was fourteen.
Suddenly I felt my feet walking to the boxes piled in the wall, and carefully climbing.
I pulled the little courtain covering the window, I don't know what impulsed me to open it, I just felt the need to do it. A huge ray of light invaded my room, almost blinding me, having to cover my eyes with my hand.
But when I opened them again, I could see everything.
And by everything I mean the huge mess my room has turned into the last months, I actually can't remember the last time I cleaned this mess.
the carpeted floor was full of dust and stains everywhere, either ink stains, or whisky stains or vodka stains or whatever type of buzz or shit I had consumed the past days.
There were also loads of cigarette butts, scattered everywhere, mostly under my desk, and due to my habit of smoking indoors, the hodor inside my room wasn't helping.
"Oh no, my art, my art is catching dust on the floor." I thought, watching my art littered on the floor near my desk. I ran down the pile of boxes, quickly reaching to the floor and saving the papers, placing them back in the desk, luckily without falling. My desk is so full of things it will break at any moment, but it's full of art, my art, it also has some textbooks I dont bother to bring to school, pizza boxes, more cigarettes butts...
And more booze.
I need to get rid of all of this empty bottles soon, I need to clean my room soon.
I threw on some baggy jeans and a clean shirt, I could also wear my leather jacket again, but it's absolutely worn out, I should buy a new one.
I walked upstairs heading for the door, not bothering to take any breakfast, not even some coffee, but I kissed mom, saying goodbye before I headed for the door.
I was halfway down the street when I realised... I've left Mikey at home.
I could wait for him, it's pretty early anyway, so I walked a few metres away to turn the road and waited in the corner.

It had passed no more than ten minutes when I heard footsteps walking closer and closer, I was scrolling on my phone so I didn't know who was, but when I lifted up my face, just to see Rose walking up to me, hand in hand with Lilly, a smile appeared on my face.
"An early riser eh?" She said walking to me. I looked at her clothes, seriously, is she going to a gay pride party or something?? I laughed internally at my own joke, staring at her neon pink sneakers, and her flowery jeans.
"What are you doing here? It's really early." She asked, once she was standing next to me, but I didn't have time to answer.
"Gerard!!" Lilly screamed hugging me, well, her head barely reaches my waist, so just hugging half of my body... Whatever.
I think she's pretty fond of me since the day she covered my hair with barbie extensions. "Hi there kid." I aswered her patting her ginger locks.
"Erm... well-" I doubted for a second what stupid answer I'd give Rose. "I left so early I left Mikey at home and I thought I could wait for him here." I stood there, awkwardly, suddenly apreciating how interesting is the floor, scratchimg the back of my hair and waiting for her to laugh at my stupid awnser but she didn't, okay well, she chuckled a bit, but that's it.
"You know...-" She started, taking a deep breath before talking again. Shyness taking over her "-You could come with me to leave Lilly at school before Mikey shows up, it'll be a moment." She ended up her suggestion with a smile on her face.
In one hand, I wanted to go with her, but in the other, what would happen if we dont arrive on time? God, it's not that bad after all, and what was the worse it could happen, leaving Mikey walk alone to school? I could't say no to my new friend.
We were walking down a street, that was gradually filling with more and more kids from Lilly's age, all nicely dressed and with little backpacks hanging from their shoulders, she laughed and smiled and occasionally waved someone, shouting their names happily. So lucky she's so open and friendly to everyone, I wish I was like her at her age.
Out of tune, she got rid of Rose's hand, that was holding while she walked, just to hold mine instead. I heard Rose chuckling for a second in the background, before turning my attention to the action of the little redhead.
wow, I didn't know she was that fond of me.
She squeezed three of my fingers in her little hands and I smiled down to her squeezing her hand back, she giggled in response, and blushed, scooting closer to my leg while we walked.
We arrived a matter of minutes after to the huge building that was the middle school.
I perfectly knew that building, after all, it has also been my middle school, it was tje one in the neighborhood, and it's exacly like I remember it was.
God I maybe sound like a grandad talking about old memories, it has been less than three years since I left that goddamned building.
Rose kneeled next to Lilly, that let go off my hand, and whispered something to her ear, making her giggle once more, before kissing her cheek lovingly.
I watched the two sisters exchange their goodbyes as if they were mother and daughter.
Rose must be a very mature girl, acting just like a second mom for Lilly.
I guess I'm also protective over my own brother, but our relationship has been failing a bit during the last months.
Mikey and I need to talk about that.
We both watched how Lilly ran to catch up the queue that the children were forming on the playground.
"She's very fond of you. " She said out of the blue, her eyes still fixed on her younger sister. "Yeah, I can tell. " I simply added, scratching nervously the back of my head. I don't want any of that teachers that are walking around to see me, because they'll probably recognize me, and I don't want that to happen, whatsoever. I was a slightly bad student back then.
Eventually, Rose turned around and we started to walk all the way back to where we met that morning, ready to go to the hell hole.
I also like to compare it with the Death Star, because it destroys people.
But it's just a high school, a fabric of pigs and sluts.

We luckily catch up with Mikey, and halfway from school (like always) we found Frank and Ray, I greeted both of them with a hug, and started to talk with Ray about some cool music I had found out lately, Ray and I agreed to go this weekend to buy some cool cd's to the music store, and then they could sleep over.
"Yeah Gee it could be a great plan for the weekend!!" He smiled excited listening to my idea.
I think he's also happy because I've gotten over my mood once again. I'm not drunk anymore.
Ray started to talk about how the schedule of this weekend could be, but from the corner of my eye, I was paying more attention to the conversation Rose was having with Mikey and Frank.
Rose and Frank were close, I knew that.
But I didn't know they were that close.
Frank's left arm was draped over Rose's shoulder, and he was laughing happily, the three of them seemed amused with their conversation, my little brother also laughed, and I can swear, I saw him peeking at me once.
I smiled again, what's happening to me? I can't stop smiling since I opened the window of my bedroom this morning.
I guess it makes me happy see my friends happy.
