Soon Dad went up the stage and knocked the mic lightly gaining everyone's attention

Dad: Good evening to everyone present here. As you all know, we have gathered here for some celebration. And now I'm going to announce what the celebration is for. As you all know, I have grown into an old man and it's quite tiring for me to handle such a big company, so i have taken this decision to rightfully handle this company to Hong Joshua, my son. He is the best suited to guide the company and make a future. Son, come up here

Everyone started cheering, I looked at Joshua, he didn't seem happy nor sad. He was just expressionless standing there like a statue until mom patted him lightly on his back, he soon went up

Dad: that's my son!

As soon as Joshua arrived on the stage, more clappings were heard. The cameras were flashing. Dad gave Joshua a beautifully decorated file and then Joshua thanked everyone

Mom: i hope you are maintaining your promise

I looked at Mom who was standing beside me. She had tears in her eyes while looking at her son. She looked proud and happy.

Mom: Joshua deserves all the happiness in the world

I looked at Joshua, he had tears in his eyes as well. He smiled sincerely

Mom: He has never been this happy since a long time. It's been ages since I have seen Joshua smile. Please keep this smile on his face, always. I beg you

I just couldn't speak anything. I kept nodding continuously showing mom that i got when she meant

Soon Dad called me and mom for a family photo. We had a family photo on the stage and then everyone went to have dinner. Me, mom-dad, Joshua and my parents were having dinner together while guests kept approaching Joshua to congratulate him. Andy and his father too came to congratulate him. Andy seemed so happy, he was sincerely happy for Joshua, i knew Andy well since high school and could tell he was proud of his friend. Joshua too seemed to understand it so he smiled brightly at Andy and thanked Andy for congratulating him

Soon everyone left including my parents. Now mom-dad too were going to get in their car

Dad: are you happy?
Shua: very much

Joshua said while tearing up with a smile

Dad: you deserve it my son, you deserve it. We will get going. Reach home safe you both, tomorrow we will complete the paper work. Good night
Mom: love you, my son
Shua: love you too mom. Go safe, goodnight
