H A E U N

Traveling from Seoul to my home felt and was longer than I expected it to be. I don't have the energy to return home anymore, all I want to do is lock myself inside my apartment from the rest of the weekend.

Me and Hawon have barely talked since the Hyde hunt. She tried to start conversations but I kept ignoring her. Hawon did talk with herself for a while but gave up in the end.

I walked into my old bedroom, feeling some sort of nostalgic feeling even though it's only been over a month since I was here. But my old bedroom reminds me of the person I was before University and before Sunghoon. A part of me miss my reckless personality when my number one priority was myself.

"Do you remember Jake? The werewolf I used to date" Hawon asked while she leaned against the door frame.

"You two used to date?" I asked back out of confusion while I sat down on my bed.

"Not officially but almost. Jake fell in love and I almost did even though my love was an act. I did not just fool Jake by pretending I was in love with him, I fooled myself into falling for Jake for real" Hawon said.

"But at the end of day, Jake was my once upon time but not my happily ever after. I killed him before my feelings for him would get stronger and it didn't take long before I realized I made the right decision. It didn't felt good in the moment but when I found out Jake used me to get over his ex, things immediately felt better" She added.

"And you are telling me this in order to raise my motivation for murder?" I replied.

"I'm telling you this because sometimes your greatest choice means losing someone you love. Behind every smile is a story full of hundreds of lies and I don't want you to fall for those types of smiles and lies, just like I almost did" Hawon responded.

I nodded. I understand Hawon is worried about me and wants to warn me about committing a mistake she almost did. However, me and Hawon might be sisters but we are not the same person. Same thing goes for Sunghoon and Jake, they both might be monsters but they are not the same person either.

My mother suddenly called mine and Hawon's name from downstairs. Hawon grabbed my wrist and dragged me down the stairs. My mother's face lit up when she saw me, Hawon let go off my wrist while our mother hugged me tightly.

"It's good to see you again Haeun" My father said while he patted my shoulder.

When my mother had let go of me, I followed my father to the living room. A huge blackboard was standing in the middle of the living room, on it were different types of photos of people of places that were connected to each other.

One of the photos stood out to me a bit more than the others. It was a photo of a man and a woman, a couple probably. It feels like I have seen them somewhere before but I don't know where.

"In centuries have our family been under threat by a certian family of legacy vampires. It's been years since we last heard anything from them but they are back now and hopefully for the last time.." My father said.

"It's about time we end this once and for all, it's about time to get rid of the Park legacy once and for all" He added.

I continued to stare at the photo of the couple while my father talked. Now it makes sense why I found the couple familiar, it's Sunghoon parents. Wasn't it enough suffering for the universe already when they formed a forbidden couple consisting of a vampire and a hunter?

It feels like the universe handpicked and personally chosen me and Sunghoon for this tragic love story. The universe really brought two people together only to tear them apart, not only because their love is forbidden but also because their families are long-lived enemies.

My life story is officially the modern version of Romeo and Juliet.

"Based on our information it seems like the whole Park legacy is located in Seoul, at least we know our main goal is located in Seoul. Our first victim is going to them, Park Sangjun and Park Yewon along with their son Park Sunghoon" My mother said while she pointed at the photo of Sunghoon's parents.

Hearing Sunghoon's name usually makes my heart skip a beat out of excitement but now it skipped a beat out of panic. I was prepared to hear Sunghoon's name being used for negative purposes but my heart would rather not hear it.

"Park Sunghoon?" Isn't that perhaps the name of your newfound friend?" Hawon asked me while she walked towards me with a teasing smile.

"Now when I'm looking at the photo of Park Sungjun and Park Yewon, I see a lot of similarities between them and your newfound friend. Is he perhaps Park Sunghoon?" She added and threw her arms around my shoulder.

I stayed quiet while I started deeply into Hawon's eyes. Now I understand the exact reason why Hawon told me about her relationship with Jake. Behind Jake's smile was a story of him and his ex and behind Sunghoon's smile is the story of his legacy. Hawon told me about her relationship with Jake in order to see Sunghoon from a new perspective. But unfortunately, her plan failed.

"Yeah, he is Park Sunghoon" I said while I crossed my arms.

"Perfect!" Both of my parents exclaimed.

They continued to talk with each other while they looked and pointed at the blackboard in front of them. Hawon slowly removed her arm from my shoulder to cross her arms just like me. The teasing smile on her lips still hasn't left yet.

"Don't even think about killing Sunghoon, he's mine" I said.

"What a shocker" Hawon replied in a sarcatic tone.
