"Mm, Kaeya?"
Albedo looked down at the ground, tucking a small strand of hair behind his ear. Heat rose up his face, and he assumed that it had already conquered his ears and turned them red.
"Yes?"
Kaeya replied, slightly confused. Why was Albedo acting this way? Was he okay?!-
"I'm in love with you."
Kaeya awoke, the feeling of surprise wrapping around him like a blanket. Why did he have that dream? And what time even was it? The window positioned above his bed suggested that it was still night, so Kaeya had at least a few hours to process what he had just dreamed about. It was rather pathetic, having dreams about some guy that didn't even reciprocate his feelings. He felt like a child, experiencing their first crush, just to realise that heartbreak was inevitable. Was this dream the result of last night and their very brief conversation on love? Why was that even brought up in the first place?
He shook the thoughts from his head, sitting up. Speaking of Albedo, where was he? He should be around here somewhere, but he never really designated a place for him to sleep. Albedo just plopped himself on the couch, no questions asked.
Well, if it really was the middle of the night then he should get back to sleeping, but it felt like something was stopping him. Well, he doubted that he'd be able to sleep anyway. At this point he'd do anything to delete that memory out of his brain, but for now the best he could do was push it to the corners of his mind, never to be seen again, hopefully.
He pushed the blankets off him, deciding to see what he'd be able to do in his room to pass the time. Would he be able to go back to sleep? As soon as he stood up a cold breeze reverberated down his spine, maybe getting out of bed wasn't the best idea.
He threw on the first pieces of clothing that he saw, some neglected jacket in one corner and some equally neglected trousers in another corner. Jeez, he really had to clean up this place, what would the people of Mondstadt think if they saw this? What would Albedo think?
He shook his head as if it would rid his mind of Albedo, he really wasn't going to disappear soon, wasn't he? A walk to get his mind off things would be hard to pull off, considering that Albedo's sleeping in the living room, right where all his things were. Would taking a walk do any good for him? If he wasn't able to rid his mind of him here, what's to say that he'll disappear with a change of scenery?
To be honest, Kaeya's room was pretty bland. The only decorations were the piles of clothes that ended up in the corners of his room, aside from that the only other thing was a desk and whatever littered it. Just from a glance you could tell that this room wasn't used often. The desk wasn't busy, nor was it clean. It held a few empty cups, but those were from a while ago. All his work got done in his office so what was the point of adding this and that to his room? Personal comfort? The piles of clothes certainly didn't act as personal comfort.
Kaeya found himself silently berating himself for the mess here, but that did give him an idea, although not a very entertaining idea. He could either clean up this place or force himself back to sleep and risk dreaming of something like that again. But he did admit, he enjoyed the dream as long as it lasted. But giving himself false hope wasn't the best idea.
He headed straight towards a pile, almost tripping over some obstacle that he couldn't see, which ended up toppling over and causing a racket. Why was it always night when he made the most noise, especially when he had guests over?
He did realise something because of it though, if he woke Albedo he'd be free to go get whatever he wanted from the kitchen, releasing him of any hunger or thirst that appeared while he was working. So he put this plan in execution, though he did feel a little guilty.
He didn't exactly try to make noise, he just didn't try to avoid it. But some part in him still found it wrong to purposefully try and wake someone who's sleeping peacefully.
A little crash there, another bang over there and someone had come knocking on his door. It came as three soft taps, Kaeya wasn't sure if he'd actually heard it, but he cracked the door open a little just to make sure he wasn't ignoring Albedo.
And there he stood, in his shirt and shorts, he'd seemed to have removed everything else.
"Kaeya? Are you okay? I heard crashing in your room and I wanted to make sure that everything was okay."
Kaeya did feel like a little girl experiencing her first crush, he felt like screaming at the fact that Albedo cared enough to check up on him. It didn't take him too long to realise that he was staring and he quickly formulated a reply.
"Oh uh yeah. Sorry if I woke you up, is there anything you need? We're both awake now so it's no trouble if you ask me for anything."
Kaeya spoke quickly, but his pace slowed down once he calmed a bit. Right after he'd finished speaking he started moving, muttering a quick 'Excuse me.' before pushing past Albedo and into the kitchen. Why did he think this was a good idea? He was trying to force Albedo out of his mind, not bring him up in real life too. He felt like screaming out of frustration, but instead he decided to grab a glass of water, maybe that'd bring him back to his senses. But, an idea came to mind. Why not just have a glass of wine instead? There was really no harm in one glass, was there?
In swift movements he poured himself a glass of wine, forgetting to check the label. Maybe this could be a treat for dealing with his mind's shenanigans for once.
But in the midst of all his bliss a voice sounded behind him.
"Kaeya could I have a cup of water? Also is alcohol the best option right now?" The first sentence was innocent, but the second was an indirect insult to Kaeya, or was it? Kaeya was already irritated, this is probably his mind playing tricks on him again, but he couldn't help but feel a little angry as he prepared a glass of water for Albedo
Albedo saw how his demeanour changed but decided to speak nothing of it, in doing so he'd probably get Kaeya even more riled up.
He was handed his cup of water with a little force but he took it gracefully, fully ignoring how Kaeya acted. Kaeya was quite thankful for this, but the situation did bring a slight tint to his cheeks once he realised how dumb he was acting.
He dropped his previous emotions, leaving them in the dist as he invited Albedo to take a seat with him at the table. They sat across each other in another awkward silence, but at this point it was a silence they were used to. Kaeya soon tried to start up a conversation, and to his surprise, it worked. Soon they were speaking as if they'd been friends from the day they were born.
This continued as light chatter, along with airy laughs, echoed around the house until the sun rose, reminding them that there was a full day ahead of them.
:)
Did I just change writing styles? It certainly feels like it. Did I mean for this change to happen? Nope. Am I able to edit this to revert it to my old one? Also nope.
I am working off of the 3 hours of sleep I got 22 hours ago I'm sorry if you don't like it, the writing feels weird here so I apologise for that too. Because there are more condensed paragraphs it also looks like there's less writing so it'll feel shorter too, I also apologise for that, have a nice day :)
