Petalkit's Prophecy

Chapter 8, An Interesting Dream

This is going to be a short chapter, but the next chapter is going to very long. 

Petalpaw felt her eyes open and she groans from the very bright light in her face. When she open her eyes, still squinting. Petalpaw finally adjusted to the brightness around her. She looks around in shock. Then she remembers this place when she met her brothers in her dream. It was the same place! She was proud that she remembers this place, but is confused to why she is here. 

"Patchkit, Larchkit!" Petalpaw quietly shouted to her brothers. If they were even there.

Then Petalpaw was about to take a step forward; she saw her, brothers! 

"Petalpaw!" Her brothers squeaked as they ran up to her with excitement to see her again.

"Wow, you've gotten taller than the last time we saw you?" Larchkit said in curiosity.

Patchkit looked at his brother like he did something really stupid and gave he a 'why did you do that' kind of look. Petalpaw giggled to what her brothers were doing.

"How dare you, why you laughing!" Larchkit said with a purr in his throat and ran over to Petalpaw. 

Patchkit walk over to next to Larchkit. Larchkit looked up at her. He was so small compared to her and patchkit was a little bit smaller than Larchkit. 

Petalpaw moved her head to the side looking down. Larchkit looked up at Petalpaw, confuse as to why she was, Crying! Patchkit walked up to her. Petalpaw was sobbing and she looked forward to see her two brothers looking up at her. With worry in their eyes to why she was crying. They stared at each other for a while until Petalpaw broke the silence and whispered quietly"I missed you two very much, I'm glad that you visit me again". Petalpaw smiled at her brothers with tears rolling down her cheeks. Petalpaw moved her head down to see her brothers. They were crying too. 

"I miss you so much, Petalpaw" patchkit squeaked and nuzzles his sister's cheek. 

Petalpaw looked at her brothers and her tears were now gone, but the feelings of happiness to see her brothers again. Filled her with joy. Then Petalpaw happiness fades. All she wanted was to see her mother again. Even it was a short amount of time; she would love to hear her voice again. 

"Where is mapleshade?" Petalpaw said in a serious but gentle voice.

Her two brothers looked at her in shock then at each other then at Petalpaw again. They were scared to tell their sister, but knew they had to. 

"Mapleshade is dead in the dark forest. She thinks you are dead like us. She doesn't know that you are alive." Larchkit said with a sorrowful tone and seriousness too. 

Petalpaw looked at her brothers in shock and in sadness that her mother thought she was dead. She started crying again but not out of happiness, but out of sadness. Petalpaw looked down at the ground her paws were shaking and saw tears fall on ground. Her tears dazzled the already sparkly ground with more sparkles. Patchkit walked up to Petalpaw and started nuzzle her cheek again. 

She felt comfort from her little her sitting on the right side of her head. Larchkit looked at Petalpaw and felt her pain and understands her sadness. He let his ears go down to his head. He walked up to patchkit and nuzzle her face to like her other brother did. She loved her family very much. She felt even more comfort from Larchkit being there too. 

"I just want to see mapleshade again" petalpaw quietly said to her brothers. They heard her and said "me too, I miss her too." Patchkit said. "Me too" Larchkit add.

Then Petalpaw woke up from her dream to snakepaw gently nudge petalpaw's cheek with her nose.

"Are you alright, you were sobbing and mumbling in your sleep." Snakepaw said quietly. Snakepaw was worried for her sister. Wondering if she was alright.

"I just had a weird dream that's all. I'm okay" petalpaw said to snakepaw while lifting her head up. It was dark in den, but she could she snake paw's beautiful eyes glow a little bit in the dark.

"Alright, just let me know if you are feeling down. I just don't want to see you cry." Snakepaw said to her. Petalpaw noded her head. 

"Hey snakepaw" petalpaw said to her friend. 

Yes what is it?" Snakepaw said to her friend.

Petalpaw pick her sister's forehead and smiled "thanks for being there for me and I will be there for you too." Petalpaw to her sister. 

Snakepaw was shock from the other ck from her sister then relax quickly "I will and thank you too" snakepaw said.

Well goodnight, love you" snakepaw said while she walked over to her nest and circled around her nest then nestled down in her nest and closed her eyes. She was asleep already. Petalpaw said "I love you too" and lowered her head down in her nest putting her paws underneath her head and drifted off into sleep.
