Grave

The guys were sitting at Josh and Catherine's grave which was near Sam's which was next to Susan's.
"So many graves" Tyler said
"It's sad" Max said replacing the old flowers with new flowers by Sam's grave.
"The fact that it's Abby who did it, someone the world can't see, someone who can't be stopped, it hurts" Shawn said
"It really does" Max sighed sitting down
"At least we have subs" Maddie said as they all sat down, with their party food.
"This might not be the right time for this but, Elle why did you and Catherine break up, you never told us" Maddie asked
"I didn't" Elle questioned taking a bite of her sandwich
"Nope" Maddie replied
"Didn't you guys date in college" Max asked
"Yeah, that's what we're talking about" Elle said
"They only hooked up here and there afterwards" Shawn said
"Ok, well, do you want me to tell the story or not" Elle asked looking at Catherine's grave then at her friends we were also munching on their subs
"Yeah" Maddie said
"Wait, you dated for like four years right" Emily questioned
"Yes" Elle confirmed
"So what happend" Tyler asked
"Yeah I'm interested" Mason said
"Alright, it's not that interesting.." Elle said
"Did she cheat" Emily asked
"Let her tell" Tyler said causing Elle to laugh
"No, and no I didn't either..." Elle said

"You're adorable you know that" Catherine said to Elle who was putting her shirt on

"Let me guess, you sucked in bed so she stormed off" Tyler joked
"Dude" Shawn said
"Anyway" Elle said

Catherine and Elle had both put there clothes on. It was there senior year of college. Graduation was coming up. Catherine was close to failing out. Catherine didn't tell Elle.
"Ready, we need to pick up something for dinner" Catherine said
"Yeah" Elle agreed

"We don't need all the details, get to the point" Tyler said
"But background makes it better" Max said
"I could have Catherine tell it" Elle joked looking at the grave
"Come on, I'll stop interrupting" Tyler said
"Where was I, oh the store, that's where it started" Elle said

"How about donuts" Catherine said putting them in the cart
"We don't need them" Elle said
"But we do, I can't live off cereal" Catherine complained
"Fine grab them" Elle laughed
"Hey Elle" Dusty said coming up to them

"Wait Dusty, as in your ex girlfriend" Maddie questioned
"Yes Dusty" Elle said
"Wait the hot blonde" Shawn asked
"Yes Shawn" Elle laughed and continued

"Hi Dusty" Elle as Catherine inched closer to Elle
"I didn't know you guys were going out today" Dusty said
"We needed a couple things" Catherine said gripping Elle's waist as Dusty also got closer to them
"We should all hang out" Dusty said
"Totally" Elle said Catherine's heart sank.
"See you around" Dusty said walking away
Catherine let go of Elle's waist
"You ok" Elle asked
"Yup" Catherine lied

"Catherine always got so jealous" Maddie said
"I mean I would too" Emily said
"Did she do the possessive waist grab" Tyler asked
"Yeah" Elle said
"That's hot" Tyler said
"Well, me and Dusty didn't do anything" Elle laughed and continued

Back at the apartment Catherine had been silent throughout the car ride.
"Talk to me" Elle said
"And say what" Catherine asked
"Oh my god, you're jealous" Elle said
"Maybe" Catherine said
"I felt your nails dig into my waist" Elle said
"Sorry" Catherine sighed waking away
"Catherine" Elle said knowing a part of her was turned on by it

"Hold up, is that why you have a scar on your waistline" Shawn asked
"Yeah" Elle said
"Bro she was possessive" Tyler said
"And Jealous" Mason said
"This story is getting long, we got kids to take care of" Max said

Catherine had run off to the bar and Elle went to meet up with Dusty at a coffee shop near campus.
"Hi Elle" Dusty said
"Hi" Elle replied
"You and Catherine seem happy" Dusty said
"Yeah" Elle agreed

"What" Elle questioned
"Just, I want you back, I think we should give it another go" Dusty said
"Hell no, Dusty you left me for a man, I'm leaving" Elle said

"No" Elle said leaving the coffee shop

"Wait- doesn't Dusty have a kid at Lakeside Academy" Mason asked
"Yeah, her names California" Elle said
"Wait she's dating my brothers kid" Tyler gasped
"She's a sweetheart, how is Dusty her mom" Maddie laughed "Rose invites her to dinners sometimes"
"I have no idea" Elle laughed "she's still with Garett who she left me for"
"Crazy" Maddie said
"Can you continue the story" Max asked
"Right, so I left, then got home to find Catherine breaking up with me" Elle said
"Wait so why did you break up" Emily asked
"Here's what I know" Elle said

"Elle" Catherine stood in the living room as Elle walked back in
"Yeah" Elle questioned
"I think we should break up, I'm not good for you Elle, you deserve someone better" Catherine said
"No, Catherine please, I love you" Elle begged but Catherine sighed and left the apartment

"She didn't even say it back" Emily gasped
"Bro" Tyler gasped
"Look, we broke up, we distanced ourselves, around graduation we were friends again and here we are, she's dead and I'll never know why, and what came to her dumping me" Elle said
"I think she was just a chicken" Shawn said
"I don't know, she had a lot of mental health issues" Mason said
"I doubt that's why" Max said
"Know she loved me, she's just, Catherine" Elle said
"Wait, she called me that night" Maddie said

Catherine was sitting at a bar and she called Maddie
M: Hey you ok
C: No
M: Where are you
C: Bar, my usual one
M: On my way
Maddie soon arrived and found a almost drunk Catherine
"What happend Babe" Maddie asked
"I..I don't know, honestly, I love Elle too much" Catherine sighed
"What do you mean" Maddie asked
"I just know, I'll hurt her, she doesn't deserve me, Dusty came by today, they are out together now, and Dusty is right, I'm a shitty person" Catherine started to cry
"When did this happen" Maddie asked
"Ever since I started dating Elle, Dusty's been texting and calling me, she's be begging me to break up with Elle, every time I block her she finds another way to reach me, she found out I might not graduate and threatened to tell Elle, Elle's so sweet, she shouldn't have to put up with me"
"Catherine, you can't doubt yourself like this, you love her don't you" Maddie asked
"Yeah" Catherine replied
"Then go, go be with her, talk to her, she'll help, love and support you" Maddie said
"Alright" Catherine said

"I thought she was gonna go home to you and talk this out, but apparently not" Maddie said
"Wow, fucking Dusty" Elle sighed with tears in her eyes
"I'm sorry Elle" Max sighed giving her comfort
"Catherine was always a coward" Shawn said
"Dude" Tyler said
"He's not wrong unfortunately, she never knew what she wanted, part of the way she grew up, she grew up with very abusive, homophobic, traditional parents, they sorta set her up with Josh, and you saw how that went, then the kids, only reason she talked to them" Elle said
"Yeah and her grandpa was very homophobic so that also lead her back to the closet, she was scared" Maddie said
"My dad was homophobic, I get it, my mom wasn't before she died, I don't talk to my dad anymore cause I married Sam" Max said
"Really" Mason questioned
"Yeah, it's sad but it's how things are" Max sighed
"That was also the night, we changed her will" Maddie remembered
"Wait, you told me she got a call that day" Tyler said
"Yeah, after the break up, we later got a call and ended up going out drinking again, we were like a bottomless pit of alcohol" Maddie said
"I wish Catherine knew all this" Elle said
"Hey but she did love you, she might not have told you but she did" Maddie said
