Ocean Ruck
January 13, 2145
"I'm so nerves for today." Courtney said as she hugged her books tighter. I nodded.
"Me too. I can't wait to find out who is going to be enlisted. Six great years of being in space." I sighed. Courtney nodded.
"Oh, there's Ender." Courtney said, pointing. I looked over and saw Ender walking down the hall by himself. I swallowed hard, debating if I should go and talk to him, or if I should stay here. I took a deep breath in.
"I'm going to talk to him." I said. Courtney looked at me.
"What?" Courtney asked. I looked at her.
"I'll be right back." I walked ran as fast as I could to Ender (because I'm in heels. All the girls are required to wear heels with their dress uniform). "Ender!" I yelled. He turned around and faced me. I finally caught up with him. I stopped right in front of him and stuck out my hand. "Hello. My name is Ocean Ruck. I'm a cadet here. Your name is Ender, right?" I asked. He grabbed my hand and shook it.
"Yes, that's my name. How do you know me?" Ender asked.
"My friend, Courtney, told me about you." I replied. Ender nodded and let go of my hand.
"Okay." Ender said. I smiled.
"I haven't seen you around here." I said. He nodded.
"Yeah, I'm shy." He confessed. He looked down at his PD, then back up at me. "I'll have to talk to you later. I have to go. Nice to meet you, Ocean." Ender said. I smiled. He nodded and walked away. I walked over to Courtney.
"What did he say?" Courtney asked. I smiled.
"He told me it was nice to meet me. And he will talk to me later because he is late for class." I replied. "It's weird. I felt a weird feeling, in my chest." I confessed to Courtney. Her jaw dropped.
"While you were talking to him, right?" She asked. I nodded. She smiled. "You like him!" I rolled my eyes and laughed a little.
"I don't know, maybe." I sighed. I looked at her. "Don't you have a class with him?" Courtney looked down at her PD.
"Oh, he's right. I'll be late for class, too. I'll see you later." Courtney said. I smiled.
"Okay, I should start heading over to my class too. Bye, Courtney."
"Bye, Ocean." I started to walk away. My class wasn't that far away.
"Ocean Ruck. Ocean Ruck. Please report to the infirmary. Ocean Ruck. Report to infirmary." I stopped walking and swallowed hard.
