Ocean Ruck

I nodded softly. Cornel Graff smiled. "Okay, let's go outside." Alex let go of my shoulders, and I walked out of the house with Cornel Graff. We went over to the stone bench and sat down. I looked down at my shoes. "You're scared?" I didn't move, I just sat there. "It's okay to be nervous. I was nervous for my first day of Space School." I looked at him.

"You were?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yes. I was really nervous. But once I got on, it all went away." I smiled.

"I'm just scared that, I'm going to fail. Fail everyone. And I'm not going to be able to command my own army." I confessed. He nodded.

"It'll take time, Ocean. It will. But I believe you will be commanding your own army before you know it." I nodded. He put his hand on my back. "What do you say? Want to save the world?" I looked at him, then smiled.

"Well, that's why I was born, right?" We both started to laugh. "Cornel Graff. I would love to join you."

Today's the day I leave for Space School. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone. Mostly Alex. I never seen him cry before, it made me even more emotional. I gave him a tight hug.

"Good luck, Ocean." Alex whispered as we hugged. I nodded and dug my head more into his shoulder.

"Thanks, Alex." We let go of each other. I backed up so I could see my whole family. "I'll be back soon." I turned to Aaron. He was standing there with his arms crossed. I nodded, then turned to Cornel Graff. "I'm ready, Sir." He nodded.

"Okay. Let's go." He turned around and walked over to the driver side of his car. I walked over to passenger side and opened the door. I looked back at Alex. He wiped his tear from his cheek, then stood up tall. He nodded at me. I smiled softly, then nodded.
