"Did she tell you anything about herself?"

"Not at all,"

"Did she have anything valuable on her?"

"Not that I know of,"

"Don't you know anything about her?"

Alec pondered this for a moment and gave a sly grin. "Well, she did try to rob us,"

The scientist gave a blank stare. "Thank you for your cooperation,"

Alec got up from his seat and joined in with the others, who were in the waiting area. After the incident with the bird kid, the scientist abruptly brought them back to a lab, where they immediately started asking them a ton of questions on the kid, not that they could be of much help.

The scientists gathered in a corner in the other end of the room. "Any luck?" The man who interviewed Alec asked the other scientists.

"The girl couldn't keep up with the questions. She kept going off topic and started talking about how beautiful the city is," One scientist said.

"The boy was informative, he's a smart child. In fact, he started asking me the questions," The man scratched his head and sighed. "But as much as I got out of him, there was nothing truly important that was notable,"

"The man I interviewed would barely talk at all," Another scientist said. "Is he shy or something?"

"Well the guy I interviewed is probably the worst," Alec's interviewer said. "He wasn't serious at all! Not avoiding the questions, but not answering to his fullest abilities. He's just honestly bored,"

All four could hear the comments the scientists made. It wasn't really kept a secret, even if they were in the very corner of the room.

"The worst..." Benjiro said bluntly, repeating what Alec's interviewer said. Aria and Dane giggled at how silent Benjiro said it, and Alec couldn't help but sigh out of disbelief.

"Mr. Scientists! Can we go now? We are quite busy after all," Alec shouted across the room. They all turned their heads.

"Oh, yes, you may go now," One said, and they resumed their conversation. The group took this as a sign to leave, and left the building and started heading back to their hotel. It was probably around midnight to early morning.

"So," Alec said, ruffling his curly hair. "Anyone wanna explain what just happened? I feel like I just got hit with a boulder and thrown out a window,"

Aria pouted. "They didn't let me finish talking,"

Dane poked her skinny little arm, catching her attention. "I'll listen to you talk later then, when we get back to the hotel," He slightly cocked his head to one side, letting his hood loose a little, and showing a glimpse of his pale yellow hair. "I mean, if it makes you feel any better," He added. Aria smiled and nodded.

"Dane is very nice!" Aria said, joyfully. Dane felt his cheeks get red. Lucky him, it was dark out.

"That's enough you two lovebirds," Alec said, teasingly.

"We are not!" Aria screamed, while Dane blushed harder. Some people, that for some reason were awake at this time of night, turned their heads towards the four, making Alec jolt.

"A- Aria, it was just a joke," Alec said. But this reminded him of Angelica. When they first started going out, he too, would yell at his family for always teasing them.

"It's not a nice joke," Aria said, pouting. "Especially when-,"

She stopped walking.

"Aria?" Dane said. "What's the matter?" But then he also stopped, and looked around him, looking for something in the air. Benjiro, who was also acting strange, started running. Aria and Dane followed him.

"Hey?!" Alec said running along for a reason he did not know. "I don't have magical sensing powers like you three do you know!"

"Alec," Aria said. "Just follow us. It's the bird kid we saw earlier,"

"What about her?" He asked, his eyes growing wide.

"At the speed of light, she flew right above us. I think she might be...pursuing us, you might say,"

"HUH?" Alec said, dumbfounded. "If we're being pursued, exactly why are we heading the opposite way from the hotel?"

"Kill before you are killed," Benjiro said, with a menacing look in his eyes that gave Alec the shivers.

The something from above swooped down and kicked Benjiro, right in the chest. He fell to the ground and coughed. The attack was so quick, there was no time to react. Even for Benjiro and Dane, who were trained in combat, how could they handle an enemy who moves so fast, they couldn't be seen?

Dane dropped his hood and took out his bow. He readied an arrow, his eyes were looking around frantically. "Where are you? Bird kid, I'm trained at shooting my prey, so don't mess with me.

"Aria, come here," Alec said, and Aria obeyed. He pulled her in close and hugged her, surprising Aria. "Sorry, just until the danger is gone. Let me be your shield,"

Benjiro stood up, shakily, and grabbed the sword that was strapped to his back.
Both of them tried their best, but the bird kid was quick, and attacked the split second their guard was down. Both were falling to the ground, coughing up blood, from attacks they cannot see. "No..." Dane said, coughing. His body was bruised from kicks and punches, and the same goes for Benjiro.

"Alec, let me go," Aria said.

"What are you, crazy?!" Alec said, squeezing her tighter. "I can't let you go now, you'll be injured,"

"I'll be okay, Alec. Trust me,"

Reluctantly, he let go.

Aria walked away from him, and stood in an open area, the perfect area to be attacked in. "A stupid and risky decision," thought Alec. She closed her eyes, and waited for herself to be attacked.

And it worked. The bird kid lunged towards her.

But Aria grabbed the leg that was coming for her and stopped it completely, shocking the bird girl. Somehow, without looking, Aria found the girl's exact position, and was able to grab her at just the right time.

"You... but how?!" The bird kid yelled, trying to break her leg free from Aria's grip.

Aria opened her eyes slowly, her blue eyes glistening. But something was strange. Her eyes... has Alec ever seen them so... menacing before? No, it wasn't just the eyes, but her whole expression. It was like looking at a different person.

Wait, was it a different person?

"Aria..." Alec whispered her name as if it was a deadly sign. "Aria, stop it,"

But she didn't seem to hear him. Aria took the leg and pulled it to the ground. Hard. Making the girl's body slam against concrete. Before she could fly away, Aria got on top of her and pinned her down to the ground, her silver hair falling upon them, slowly in the wind.

Alec unconsciously ran to them and grabbed Aria's wrist, but she did not get up. Her gaze never left the bird girl's eyes.

Staring at the girl with now dark, red eyes, Aria said words that Alec would have never expected.

"If you keep hurting people, The One Who Sends Miracles won't even glance your way,"
