Unconditional Love

"What do you think about my idea?" I asked Brian and Madison. "isn't it fantastic?"

"No it's not, Jayden listen carefully to everything I'm going to tell you now." Madison began. "Annelisa is a Christian she has devoted her time and her whole life to worshipping and glorifying the name of the Lord. So clearly she won't go to a frat party with you."

I sighed in defeat.

Madison is right but I would never admit that to her.
Annelisa is so much more different from me... We are from two different worlds.

But somehow ever since I met her I have had the need and desire to be enveloped by the same world she's in.....

"Hi everyone." Veronica, Madison's sister greeted us.

"Hey, how are you?" Brian and I replied simultaneously.

"I'm good thanks for asking. I'm sure you both are doing well also." Veronica smiled at us.

"Why are you here Veronica?" Madison questioned with an irritated expression on her face.

"I wanted to inform you that Noah invited all of us to his house on Saturday. I hope you'll be able to go?" Veronica mentioned.

"But don't y'all have Bible study on Saturdays?" Madison inquired.

"Yes, I'm so glad you still remember." Veronica stated with a smile on her face.

"Unfortunately, I won't be able to go because I'll be busy with the Cheer team the entire week."  Madison answered her eyes gazing at the food in front of her.

"Will Annelisa also attend the Bible study lesson?" I blurted out unintentionally.

"Yes, she will," Veronica replied.
"Maddy, if somehow plans change or you don't have anything to do on Saturday you're always invited to church. Thank you." 

Veronica walked away and I stared at Madison.

"Why don't you wanna go? Firstly why did you stop going to church anyways? I never asked but now I'm curious." I questioned.

Madison fiddled with her fingers her face glancing at everywhere else except my face.

"It's a long story Jayden." she finally spoke as she resumed eating.

I turned my head to glance at Brian because he has been quiet for a long time.

"We have all day to listen Madison, I'm also interested to know what happened that changed your whole mindset drastically. " Brian divulged.

Madison sighed.
"When I was 16 I got involved in a severe car accident." She turned her gaze towards my face, tears were already streaming down her face.

"How?" I asked.

"I was on my way home from Jessica's birthday party, and her elder brother decided to drop me off at my house and I agreed. So while we were on our way to my house, a big truck that came from out of nowhere collided with our car."  Madison revealed.
I know who Jessica is, I remember she was Madison's best friend. But they had a falling out of some sort for a reason I could never figure out.

"I recall how terrified I was at that moment all I could think about was would I live..." Tears streamed down her cheeks rapidly. "I don't know how I ended up in the hospital with bruises on my arms, legs and face. The doctor told me that my arm was fractured. The saddest moment of that whole incident was finding out that Aiden Jessica's brother died at the hospital after multiple surgeries were done on his entire body." Madison voiced out.
