ACT I CHAPTER 1
( the luck of the draw, draws the unlucky )

IT WAS THE DAY OF THE REAPING. The day that twenty four will be forced to fight to the death and only one will survive.

'In less then a week 24 tributes will be fighting to the death'

The words stung into her brain from the past 3 years she had been in the reapings. Juliette remembered the young victor from district four.

Finnick odair.

He was only fourteen when he got chosen to be put into Snow's little game. If it wasn't for the sponsors who sent him a trident, many say he would've died.

But juliette didn't believe that.

"Its nearly time to leave." A quite voice spoke softly from the petite frame of the dainty home, a young girl, Juliette's little sister.

Jude was a exceptionally small girl who had amber coloured hair. She was a bright girl who absolutely adored to paint and help the coral reefs at the coasts with Juliette and their mother.

As Juliette turned around she lightly patted her hands down her teal dress and a small smile etched its way onto the blonde's face, "I know," she spoke softly, "You look gorgeous little star."

Jude grinned up towards her sister as she held out her hand, "Thank you. But mom is already walking down, we should go now too."

The girl's, both hand in hand, exited the home and walked along with the neighbours towards where the reaping was being held.

During the walk down Juliette made sure to take everything around her in. She always said to Jude 'you never know what could happen. Always cherish the things around you.'

Peace keepers surrounded the district aswell as lining up the stage incase of any violent attacks. They were always told to shoot on command if danger was suspected.

Just before they joined the cues fifteen year old turned to the smaller girl beside her, "Okay, so they're just going to prick my finger and get a little blood." She saw the distressed look on Jude's face, "Trust me J, i promise you as soon as i'm finished i'll come and find you."

Jude nodded carefully as the fear in her eyes slowly faded into the deep blue of her eyes.

The girl went into the cue for her age group for Juliette 15 years.
