     ACT II                    CHAPTER 17
( your hand print's on my soul )

KATNISS, PEETA, FINNICK AND JULIETTE HAD BEEN RUNNING AROUND FOR A FEW MINUTES NOW AND THE CLIMATE OF THE ARENA HAD ALREADY CAUGHT UP WITH THEM.

Tears of sweat dripped down Juliette's face making her wipe them off her forehead with the back of her hand. She and Venus were right to assume that this years arena would be hot, even though the word 'hot' was an understatement.

The couple from District 12 was in front of both Finnick and Juliette as they ran almost side-by-side.

As they ran, the group swiped away branches of greenery out of their eyesight in order to see where they were going. Neither of them stopped running even though it felt like every one of them was going to collapse due to the temperature.

The buzzing of flying insects surrounded the atmosphere of the arena, they seemed pretty harmless though for the time being.

"Okay, hold up, Hold up," Finnick began, causing the group of allies to stop running and look around their surroundings.

Peeta and Katniss seemed to be in their own little world, eyeing everything from the moss covered flooring to the sky high tall trees,

Finnick turned to face Juliette who was bent over slightly, hands on her knees breathing heavily, "You alright?" He asked making Juliette look up at him, she nodded.

Flies buzzed flying around the arena, obviously disturbed by Finnick's voice but they flew away. Juliette ran a hand through her soaked hair mainly covered in water and sweat.

"God it's hot." Peeta stated still looking around the arena.

Juliette laughed slightly, "You think?" Sarcasm soaked her tone getting a slight grin from Finnick since she tried to clear the very obvious tension between them.

Katniss and Peeta seemed to ignore her, "We need to find water." Peeta said, nobody followed on, sitting in a very awkward silence. They were crouched on the mossy floor, Juliette looked around in an attempt to find something for them to drink.

The cannon fired three times causing them to all look up to the sky, slightly scared by the sudden loudness, "Well, I guess we're not holding hands anymore." Finnick laughed.

Juliette snorted, pressing her lips together to consume the laugh that threatened to escape her throat considering Katniss did not look happy at Finnick's comment at all.
