Maxi was patient. She had to be.

It didn't stop her shivering nervously as the days crept by and she didn't hear word of anything in the outside world and she wasn't sure if that was good or bad just yet. Could be both but she had faith.

But word reached her ears of some thieves that were caught a couple days ago and were kept in her fathers dungeon. She had no doubt who they were and she wanted to beg and cry for mercy as she looked at her fathers menacing grey eyes and the assassins cold, malicious ones

I can't. I can't, I need to have faith. I have faith. If they were here, then the plan should've worked.

Several Days Ago

KNOCK
KNOCK

Uslin Rikaido had heard the footsteps approaching and stopping outside his room and he waited. Everyone was on edge, the cold tension making everyone nervous and the anger for the Lord and Lady was reaching boiling points.

Uslin had to be wary for any movements, any unfamiliar shadow that moved.

And sounds creeping close to his room.

He listened to the footsteps fade away and finally stood up and approached the door, creaking it open warily and stepping out, sweeping his cloak over himself.

But he was capable of distinguishing the footsteps of those who approached him.

He walked coolly down the cold, empty corridors, yawning nonchalantly and acting as though he had preparations to make for taking his rounds for the night.

Lady Calypse was acting as though she was on the edge, but not even looking at him as she stared at the doorway where the Commander lay, watching her husband fight off a deadly poison. But it was the anger in her eyes, the glint of steel in them and he was surprised at the sight of such anger.

She looks as terrifying as the Commander.

He strode past slowly as she spoke quietly as he made sure it was clear and empty.

"I-I have my orders for y-you."

He couldn't say anything, just waited and listened as she made her orders clear. He wanted to go against them, the Commander would hate it but-

"You'll d-do anything for Anatol, S-Sir Rikaido. For m-myself and Riftan, this will be d-done."

He could only lower his head in understanding.

"Yes milady!"

For Anatol, for the Commander, for Lady Calypse, yes. He'd do whatever he had to do.

And thankfully, he knew a couple of the best knights capable of sneaking it anywhere.
