"You're awfully quiet my love".

Anastasia inhaled sharply, turning away from the open car window to give Jungkook her undivided attention. "I'm sorry, I zoned out. I hadn't realized how beautiful the scenery was-", she whispered and he smiled. "The drive to the lake house was always my favorite part of the trip-", he drummed his fingertips along the steering wheel.

Another family vacation to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
Their last trip ended in a fist fight. Hopefully this time all would be well and jolly.

"I'm hoping maybe when we get back home , you could introduce me to your family ", he gave a shy smile , scrunching up his nose and flashing his bunny teeth. Anastasia tugged at the material of her cotton dress which hiked above her knees. The thought alone scared her. She'd have to come clean about her messed up family. Telling him the truth was the right thing to do. "You always go silent when I bring that topic into the air", he whispered and she swallowed hard. "Just nervous -", she forced a smile. "Don't be -", he reached over, squeezing her hand in his. "I'm sure your family will adore me", he winked and she chuckled, playfully swatting his hand.

"I'm so glad joon will be joining for this trip ", he sighed in relief , placing his hand back on the steering. Sure he had Anastasia in the last lake vacation but with taehyung being all ghost like , it was awkward. He didn't get to go lake fishing or do the useless brother shit. With joon around , it was going to be a blast. "You know, I don't know how mother and taehyung will behave after that whole Christmas incident-", he combed a hand through his disheveled hair. "I just wish he would apologize and put this all past him. Infact , I doubt he'd show. Tae and vacations never click. Besides, there's nothing for him at the lake house. Nothing ever interested him-", Anastasia just nod at whatever jungkook spilled. She knew taehyung had a soft side. She had seen it. He was different with her. If only he could be the same with his family. Unfortunately his wounds ran deeper than anyone knew. He couldn't be healed. Taehyung did not want to be healed. He liked the way he was - closed off, Isolated, heartless when needed. His demons were always awake and in control.

But -

Sometimes, just for maybe a second , they go to sleep when he's with Anastasia. He's light and bubbly. It was his smile that made Anastasia swoon. Everything about him was utterly unique and perfect. No one should be that perfect but Kim Taehyung was.

"When last did you speak with him?".

His question snapped her back to reality. The breeze blowing through her curls and trees out in the fields as they approached the road leading to the lake house. She turned to jungkook once again. "I don't know. It's been long-", she lied. They had seen each other yesterday. What a beautiful wreck it was.

Taehyungs apartment

"You look cute in that-", he flashed his boxy smile ,snapping a picture of her in a pink apron and tall white chefs hat. "Why thank you kind sir-", she giggled, dipping her index into the chocolate paste and sticking it into her mouth. "Hmmm- needs more sugar-", she chimed and did little skips to the sugar tin which made taehyung laugh while recording her. "Can you do little twirls?", he request and she did just that , turning round and round until she felt dizzy. "Oh boy", she held the counter and they both laughed.

"You spin my world around- literally ", she giggled as he set down his phone, clasping her face and kissing her chocolate messed lips. "You taste so good", he whispered, snaking his tongue into her mouth. Anastasia moaned softly while being pressed into the counter. "Hmmm- the cake will burn ", she pulled away and he sighed ,peppering her cheek and neck with kisses. "Tae!", She cackled. "You're so adorable. Can I keep you forever?", he teased and they both fell silent after realizing what he had asked.
