*Liam*

‘Liam, please talk to me.’ My girlfriend’s voice pleaded me but I ignored her hoping she would leave me alone. Lately, the only thing the two of us have been doing was fighting, telling each other how the other person has changed and somehow regretting a lot of the choices we have made.

It wasn’t Danielle’s fault though. It was mine. I was the one who had changed; I was the one who was disorientated. I was the one who had been feeling lost resulting in ignoring the people who truly believed in me and cared about me. A pang of guilt rushed through my veins and I pursed my lips in annoyance. That wasn’t me.

That feeling was slowly invading my mind, it was slowly controlling my replies and my actions and I couldn’t be more annoyed. I was never the one who was driven by his emotions. I could control them easily, tame them even. But right now, I was hopeless. I was being driven by my own crazy emotions and my loved ones were the victims. Seeing the people I loved worried about me or angry with me was one of the things I hated the most. I’ve always been the one to keep it bottled up. I’m not the one to talk about my feelings so freely therefore it has been hard for me to explain to everyone why I have been acting so strangely lately.

I was brought back to reality by the sound of my door slamming shut signaling that Danielle was finally out. I sighed exasperatedly rubbing my face with my hands. I know ignoring her wasn’t the best idea at the moment but I longed for being alone for a moment. Soon, silence filled my apartment leaving me all alone and my mind drifted to the void that was boiling inside my own chest as I groaned in frustration. Trying to find a distraction from my own state of mind, I picked today’s newspaper. Flipping through the pages aimlessly , my eyes landed on an advertisement right on the far right corner.

It was an advertisement for a bungalow. The bungalow was in a remote village. It had its own private beach and it was really appealing. The price wasn’t that bad as well. It was perfect, it was as if it were calling me urging me to just rent it. My opportunity to leave everything behind was given to me on a silver platter and I’d be a fool to refuse it.

So without having any second thoughts, I picked up my phone and dialed the owner’s number wishing to get out of here as soon as I can.

                                            ******

A gust of cold air hit my face as I was slowly trying to navigate my way through the streets. When I said that this bungalow was in a remote shore, it was definitely in a remote shore. The town I was at could be described as a ‘Ghost Town’. The streets were empty and one street lamp illuminated the whole street making it look like one of those streets in horror movies. I quickened my pace to the 55th street. Violet, the old woman who owned the bungalow, and whom I talked to this week, had described me where to go exactly. But that never stopped me from getting lost. Luckily, this time it wasn’t hard for me to find the street. As I was making my way slowly to the bungalow which was at the end of the street, I couldn’t help but glance at my new ‘neighbors’‘ houses. Saying that I was bewildered was definitely an understatement, Victorian Houses were everywhere. My mouth fell wide open upon seeing all those majestic houses. I know, I know. I’m famous, I’m supposed to be used to these things. But somehow the old architecture always left me giddy.

I finally reached my destination finding an old woman waiting for me in the patio. She smiled at me and introduced herself. She was in her late fifties; her hair was grey with a few locks of gold. She had piercing green eyes which reminded me of Harry.

The lads.

I quickly dismissed the idea of the curly haired lad and urged ‘Violet’ to show me around. Without hesitation, she stepped inside me following behind.

After a long tour of the house, she quickly gave me the key with a tender smile on her face.

‘Liam, if you need anything, just don’t hesitate to call.’ She told me that lovely smile still gracing her face. I nodded understandingly and promised her that I would. She quickly left leaving me all alone, again. I scanned the house which I’ll be staying at for the next few days with only one thought in my mind.

If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what will.
