*Liam*

There are no teenagers here. The first note I made while exploring the new territory which was going to be my home was that there were no teenagers here. No screaming fans, no boys playing football and there weren't even any shopping centers. Somehow, I began regretting coming here.

This town was quiet. Too quiet if I may add. The 'Peacefulness' ,as Violet liked to call it, of this town was so scary. And the fact that there is no one the same age as me here isn't helping me either. I shouldn't be complaining though, isn't not having fans following my every move is what I've always wanted?. Not being swarmed by paparazzi had been my dream and it was finally true. I should enjoy it as much as I can though. It won't be long until the paparazzi find out where I am invading the town which I took as a sanctuary.

Violet told me that there was a grocery store near the bungalow where I could get what I wanted and that was where I was heading at the moment. I didn't need many things as much as I needed human interaction. I stepped inside the old-fashioned grocery store to find it completely empty. Huffing in annoyance, I collected all the things I needed leaving the task to actually find the shop keeper my last one.

'Hello? Is anyone here?' I inquired hesitantly while leaning on the counter. Suddenly, I heard a noise coming from a back door I didn't recognize and a gruff voice informed me that they were coming. I waited impatiently and finally an old lady emerged from the back room smiling sweetly.

'Hello.' I greeted her first which she returned with even a wider smile.

'Hello, young man. What can I do for you?' She inquired still wearing the same smile she had when she came out. However, she still looked surprised as if she weren't used to having customers, maybe even someone my own age I handed her the things I bought and then gave her the money she wanted. However, there was still this nagging need to ask her something. It was greatly disturbing me and I knew that if I didn't gather up my courage to ask her not then I'd never do.

'Is there anything else you need, young man?' she inquired confused although the prominent smile on her face indicated otherwise. I gulped shifting on my feet and I finally met her gaze.

'Well, I moved here yesterday and I-' I didn't know how to finish this. Where's everyone?

To my surprise, the woman chuckled knowingly and shook her head.

'You would like to know where all the teenagers are?' She asked me and I found myself nodding. Her lips curved into a tight smile before she motioned for me to follow her.

We went through the same door she came from earlier and I found myself staring at a beautiful garden. She ushered me to a small table underneath an oak tree and told me to sit. I did as I was told silently anticipating what she had to say.

The old woman, whose name was still unknown to me, sighed as if she were about to say something terrible. Her eyes flooded with so many hidden emotions and I knew that what she was about to say wasn't something that pleasant. However, she looked up at me and gave me a reassuring smile.

'Well, it's hard to know where to begin' she chuckled, mostly to herself and I found myself wondering what was going on.  By the look on her face, I knew she was remembering something long forgotten.

'This is where people come to die.' She finally said and my eyebrows shot upwards in a questioning manner. 'You see, young man, this town has it all. The beach here is divine , especially at dawn. Everything here is peaceful and quiet. This town has become a sanctuary for those who are no longer capable of facing the ups and downs in the outside world. This town is far away from the problems, the wars, the conspiracies outside. No hate , no fighting , nothing.'

'I think this is what everyone longs for, isn't it? To be able to spend the last years of their lives peacefully. People come here from all around the country in order to live the life they have always wanted to live. With no worries, no problems , just them and the beach. Unfortunately, everyone is so consumed in their busy lives that they begin to think it's normal. It's normal to hate each other, it's normal to kill each other. We were granted a great life but we spend our whole lives making reckless mistakes and these mistakes evolve into something worse and worse , only in the end, we discover the mistakes we've done and this is when everyone comes here. To spend the last years of their lives hoping that maybe this town will give them why the outside world had failed to. Now I told you why everyone comes here, why are you here?'

I blinked several times trying to decipher what the old woman had told me. People come here to die. They come here in order to … repent? She was right, the weather here is beautiful and all the scenes here are breathtaking . I can relate to that. My life was busy , hectic and I found myself consumed into something that was supposed to be enjoyable. On the contrary, it was killing me from the inside, I forgot how to live, how to really enjoy life. Life was never about partying and concerts. It was never about money and fame. Life has more to it than just that.

'I think I'm here for the same reason.' I finally said and it was the woman's turn to seem surprised.

Yes, I've been missing out on a lot of things and no matter how hard I try , I'll never get to change the past. I'll never get to change the decisions I've made. I just had to cope with the consequences of it all but I still had time to change everything. I still had time to live my life again, this town was giving me a second chance to change my life and I'd be a fool to miss it.

But the question remained unanswered How? How was I going to do all that? How was I going to change my life forever? Where do I start? I was lost.

Little did I know that the answer to this question was right around the corner from where I was at. In the form of one little girl named 'Isabella'.
