Chapter 8- Who is he?

After what happened at the ball, rimuru locked himself in his room thinking over what happened that evening. He was lying awake in bed when all of a sudden he heard a knock on the door.

"Satoru..? Are you okay?" A voice from his mother asked from the other side of the door.

"Yes..I'm alright..I'm just tired.." Rimuru answered silently.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Yuri asked.

"No..I just want to be alone for a while.." Rimuru said as his mother silently left.

A few minutes later another knock on the door was heard.

"Mom, I don't want to talk about it." Rimuru said as he went to open the door expecting to see his mother but only saw Diablo.

A/N: P.S Diablo changed clothes because he doesn't wanna get caught yet.

"Ah master, I came here to bring you some tea." Diablo said a she placed the tea by rimuru's table.

"Diablo? Where have you been?" Rimuru asked shocked to see Diablo.

"Hm? I was here the whole time, rimuru-sama." Diablo replied as he finished setting up the tea.

"But I knocked on your door earlier?" Rimuru said.

"Apologies, I must have not heard you. Benimaru told me about what happened at the ball earlier. Are you alright, my lord?" Diablo asked as he faced rimuru.

"I'm alright, I'm just tired." Rimuru replied.

"Fufufu alright, I will leave you to rest. Good night master." Diablo said as he prepared to leave.

"Good night Diablo." Rimuru greeted back as he shut the door.

Rimuru sat down on the table drinking his tea. It was now 2 am and rimuru was still up wondering who that mystery demon was. (Why did he look so familiar? Why did the demon call him master? Where did he go? Does he like me?)

The moment that question popped up in rimuru's mind he got flustered.

(Why did I even think of that?! I Mean he probably does seeing that he came to the ball.. but still! I'm not into him! am I? I dont mind since he seems like a good guy... am I gay?) Rimuru was extremely confused. He has never been confused about his sexuality before, why did that change now. Was it because he met that demon? Rimuru shaked off these thoughts and decided he needs to go to bed and so he did.

Diablo on the other had was smiling uncontrollably in his room. He got to dance with his master! They even almost kissed! If only that human trash didn't interfere... whatever, all that matters was he got his master's attention even if it was only for a short time. So Diablo spent the whole night remembering the events that occurred during the ball.

The next day, rimuru seemed to have woken up extremely late. He woke up around 1 pm in the afternoon and was suffering from a massive head ache. So he went downstairs to have a drink of water. He looked around the house to look for Diablo but found he wasn't anywhere around the house, weird. So rimuru decided to go for a walk around tempest. He was near the training arena when he ran into Veldora.

"Rimuru! What are you doing here?" Veldora asked a she spotted rimuru.

"I was going on a walk, how about you Veldora?" Rimuru asked.

"Well I was looking for a sparring partner but I can't find any who would dare challenge me. Hahaha!" Veldora replied though rimuru was used to his behavior. Veldora probably left his room get some more manga from his room.

"Wanna walk with me then?" Rimuru asked as Veldora shrugged and joined him.

"I see that you seemed to have found someone last night." Veldora said teasingly as rimuru blushed a bright crimson.

"Y-you saw that?!" He shrieked catching the attention of some of the people near the market. Rimuru gave a quick apology and went back to talking with veldora.

"Hahaha! Everyone did. The only ones who didn't seem to notice were you two." Veldora said as Rimuru's blush deepened.

"That's so embarrassing..." Rimuru said keeping his head down.

"Nah if you ask me it was kinda adorable. Thanks to you though, you're going to help me win a bet Haha!" Veldora replied laughing at his victory against Ramiris. Rimuru was about to hit veldora when he recalled his words.

"What bet?" Rimuru asked as veldora stopped dead in his tracks.

"Veldora, what bet?" Rimuru asked facing the dragon.

"L-look at the time..! I gotta go prepare for the ball tonight!" Veldora said as he flew off.

"O-oi!" Rimuru exclaimed.

(What was that about..? What bet?)

Rimuru sighed and went back home to prepare for the ball.

(I hope he comes back.)

After rimuru finished preparing for the ball, he left along with souei. When he arrived ist seems like the guests were already mingling amongst each other. Rimuru kept looking around incase he were to find the demon in black from yesterday but he wasn't there which made rimuru a little disappointed. Rimuru then spent the spent most looking for the demon in black. He asked everyone if they saw the demon from uesterday but no one did. Defeated he went back to his seat to rest.

"Benimaru, have you seen Diablo anywhere? I wanted to ask him a favor." Rimuru asked Benimaru who was beside him.

"No? I haven't seen him since the conference?" Benimaru answered which left rimuru confused.

"Didn't you tell him about the incident yesterday? He told me you told him?" Rimuru asked.

"Sorry master but I haven’t seen or talked to him. Assumed he was with you." Benimaru answered as rimuru nodded. Why would Diablo lie to him? How did Diablo know about what happened if nobody told him?

"May I have this dance?"  The memory from yesterday recalled in his mind..

Just then everything came crashing down. It was him all along! How could he have been so blind! The answer was right infront him all this time! Rimuru quickly stood up and ran down the stairs. He was making his way through the dance floor when he was grabbed by someone.

"Rimuru-sensei!" A girl with black hair said as she grabbed rimuru and danced.

"C-chloe! I didn’t expect to see you here!" Rimuru said but in reality, he knew of chloe's affection for him but he doesn't return her feelings.

"Ofcourse I would be here! Come let's dance for a bit!" Chloe said as she danced with rimuru. Just then rimuru saw in the corner, the demon from yesterday staring at him with a heartbroken look. Rimuru was about to call out to the demon, but the demon ran away.

"Chloe, I'm so sorry but I need to go..!" Rimuru said as he went to run after the demon in black.

"A-alright..! Let's talk once you're done!" Chloe shouted as rimuru ran off.
