King's Landing was nothing like how I thought it to be.
When we reached the river gate of the city, some knights were waiting there for us. We were escorted to the carriages that were now taking us to the Red Keep.
The streets were all very beautiful, at least the ones that I was able to see from the small carriage window. I wanted to go out and see everything by myself. I have never been to a city. In Pentos, our manse was at the border of the city and Father never took us in the city.
My life near the sea has kept me away from the cities. My eyes spark at the thought of wandering in these streets. Maybe if I ask Father, he'll take me out there.
My gaze never left the window as I didn't realize when the carriage came to a stop. Baela tapped my shoulder to get me out of the trance and gestured me toward her window which offered a view of the vast structure known as the Red Keep.
The Iron gates opened as we came out of the carriage after my grandmother. I have seen different types of Iron gates but these were huge. knights surrounded us as we moved towards the gate. As I moved my eyes a little up, there I saw the castle in its full glory. It was indeed very beautiful.
Baela nudged me to look in a certain direction. When I looked knights were standing in lines on both of our sides. They were slightly bowing their heads in honor, I guess.
"The Queen." Baela gestured in front of us. She stood above the stairs in her emerald green gown along with matching jewels. A generous smile on her lips as her hands held one another in front of her waist.
"Greetings, your grace." My grandmother said in her kind tone.
"Welcome, Princess Rhaenys. I am grateful for your presence." The Queen grabbed her hands politely and embraced her. A soft smile came upon her features as she saw me and Baela.
"Princess Baela, how are you, my child?" She came a little closer to us.
"I am good, my grace," Baella said and placed a curtsy on her.
"And...you must be Princess Maenya." Princess? Who? Me?
"Yes, your grace," I uttered and tried my best to put a smile on my face. I am Maenya, not sure about the title. The Queen smiled as she looked down at me.
"We should head inside. The King awaits your presence." She started to move with grandmother, leaving me and Baela on their trail.
The castle was even more beautiful from the inside, with big staircases and amazingly aligned hallways leading to God knows where. As I was trying to look on my further right, I noticed a silhouette behind me which made me immediately turn towards it. A man with shiny armor was following our trail. He didn't give me any attention and only looked ahead, so I turned and looked ahead of me.

I have heard a lot of stories about King Viserys and now I understand the soft look that used to come on my grandmother and father's face. The King was the most polite and sweet person I have ever met. He welcomed us in a huge dining hall, where we also had our dinner. He tried to indulge everyone in the conversation. His smile never left his face.
The Queen had to leave after a maid whispered something in her ears. Later, we were escorted to our bed chambers but Grandmother stayed with the King.
My room was nice but what made it more appealing... were the huge windows on the wall to my left. I quickly opened them and the moonlight penetrated the candle-lit room.
The night sky was cleared from any clouds, providing a good view of the moon and the stars. A black-to-blue gradient covered the sky as it was teeming with the stars. A big crescent-shaped moon can be seen surrounded by an ethereal glow.
