 Eventually, soulmates meet,
For they have the same hiding place.

The carriages came to a halt when they entered the gates of the Red Keep.

A knight began to announce. "All hail Rhaenyra of House Targaryen, Princess of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne, and her royal consort, Prince Daemon Targaryen."

Rhaenyra was the first to step out of the carriage, followed by Daemon and the rest of their children. Maenya was the last to climb out, hesitating momentarily before finally emerging.

They all stood uncertainly at the center, with Daemon feeling offended at the lack of welcome for his family. Just then, the castle gates opened, and a bald man rushed toward Rhaenyra.

"Welcome back, Princess," he said gladly, holding her hands.

"Lord Caswell," she acknowledged.

The young ones exchanged glances with each other. Seeing Maenya standing a little apart, Joffrey slowly made his way toward her and held her hand. She smiled at the little one's action.

Over two years, Maenya had grown close to all of them, with Joffrey becoming especially attached. He would often ask her to read to him before bed, and she would indulge him with the stories her mother used to tell her.

As the family began to move toward the gate, Maenya felt a chill as if she were being watched—goosebumps formed on her skin. Looking upwards, she saw no one there, but before she could take a proper look, Joffrey tugged her along, and she moved with him.

Rhaenyra and Daemon went ahead to greet the king, instructing the knights and maids to escort the children to their chambers. However, Lord Caswell insisted they go to the dining room, where a meal was prepared for them.

Daemon motioned for Ser Lorent and Ser Arlan to take the children to dine, and they bowed their heads in acknowledgment.

Sitting in the dining room, most of them picked at their food without much appetite. Jace and Luke exchanged a look and stood from their seats.
