The celebration of the royal wedding has officially started...and I have not seen the groom, yet.
Prince Aegon seems not to be living in the Red Keep otherwise I would have seen him. I decided to spend my day with Helaena as she might be feeling anxious about her wedding.
When I got to her chamber, I saw her sitting on the couch and the table being a mess.
"What are you doing?" I saw her making a weird-looking headband. "Is it a tiara?" I questioned
"No silly, this is like a token of favor during tourneys." She told me.
"Favor? To whom?" I sat beside her.
"To whoever asks or to whoever we would like to give." I like her simplicity.
"So... who is getting your favor? Prince Aegon?" She looked at me as if I had grown horns.
"Aegon is very young to take part in the tourneys. But I don't think I would give it to anyone." She sighed.
"Why do you think that, princess?" I watched her face as I rested mine on my hands.
"Because I am getting married, princess." She mocked me which made me giggle.
"What nonsense! I would've given out favors even if I was married, and you, my cousin...are yet to be married." I told her.
She searched my face for something before asking. "Did you have cups for breakfast?" She burst into giggles.
"I am still not allowed to drink wine." I playfully whispered to her.
I, Maenya Velaryon, am finally able to have normal conversations with people. This would've made my mother happy. I smiled to myself.
"Why don't you make one too? What if someone asked you?" She grabbed my arm, and her eyes shined.
"No thank you, Helaena. I don't know anyone here nor am I good at interactions." I removed her hand from my arm and held it in my hand.
"Your father always takes part in the tourneys, maybe he'll ask for your favor." I didn't know about that.
"Then I'll tell him, I got nothing for him." Her eyes widened at my comment. "He is not getting any favors from me. This is what he gets for leaving Rhaena in Dragonstone." I pouted my lips.
"Looks like you have a good father-daughter relationship." She seemed sad saying that.
"It's...fine I guess. He tolerates me, and I tolerate him in return, and boom!" I shouted abruptly, making Helaena jump. "The relationship works." I chuckled at her startled reaction, and she gave me a gentle push.

I wanted to be there on time, trust me. But due to my stupid bravery, I showed it by asking Aiday to not follow me, I got lost in the castle. Tourneys must have started by now and I'm late. As much as I hate to be the center of attention, I always end up being one.
As I arrived at the gate, the guards started to open the door when I gestured to them to wait which confused them. I had been running around the palace, I needed to catch my breath. I straightened my posture, smoothened my dress, and took a deep breath before signaling them to open the gate.
I walked inside as a maid gestured me towards my seat, glad that no one paid attention. Helaena saved me a place beside her which was the front row. I mentally face-palmed myself. I am going to divert some eyes.
I quickly passed in front of everyone and immediately sat down, not before bowing my head to the king and queen. A sigh of relief left my mouth. That was quite a struggle for me.
