I was frightened at this point. I was feeling like the most useless person right now. The entire manse was in uproar, all I could hear were screams and only screams. They were getting past my hands, which were tightly closed around my ears in an attempt to block all the screams that I was probably going to remember for the rest of my life.

They were hers. She was in pain. And all I could do was to sit in a corner of my room, my head between my knees and hands upon my ears. She was screaming at the top of her lungs. Every time her pain-dripping screams hit my ears, a new set of tears fell down my eyes.

I wanted to see her. I have to go see her. I stood from my place and gathered all my courage, I exited my chamber towards the empty hallways only lit by a few candles.

As I was trying to follow the trail of her screams, wanting a fast foot but my legs were denying me. I was dragging myself when they stopped.

The screams suddenly stopped. The manse fell into silence.

Lost in the way, I didn't know where to turn. A silhouette moved ahead of me, which scared me with its sudden presence but my curiosity made me follow it.

With the help of moonlight, I saw her dragging herself through the sand. Her condition physically broke me.

"Vhagar-" she called her dragon, her voice barely coming out. "Vhagar, dracarys," hearing her now loud words, my feet break into a run.

"Mother no-" My voice brought her out of the daze. "What are you doing-" she cut me as she fell on the sand. Her dress was stained with her blood.

"Maenya leave! Vhagar Dracarys-" She pushed me away from her as Vhagar slightly shifted.

"Vhagar daor," I reached for her now bloodied hands. "Why are you doing this-"

"Vhagar draca-"

"Mother stop." I covered her mouth. "I beg you Mother, don't do this-"

"I beg you Maenya, let me do this," She removed my hands and grabbed my face in between her hands. "I am in pain, can't you help your mother-"

"What about Baela and Rhaena? What about father?" I moved my face away from her hands, sniffling. "What about me, mother?" a loud sob escaped my mouth. Her tears increased at my sobbing.

"I know nothing before my girls nor after them-" She does not want to hear me.

"Maenya, my brave Maenya, your mother has reached a point where she has no way out of her death," I was constantly shaking my head. "I am a dragon rider, I don't wanna die like that, pathetically," she lightly chuckled while bringing me closer, she rested her forehead on mine.

"Mother don't please-"

"shhh...I love you, I love you more than anything in this world," She grunted in pain. "Never forget that your mother was just in unbearable pain." She pushed me again with all of her remaining strength and I fell at a distance.

"Vhagar, dracarys!" The dragon opened his mouth.

"NO!" I tried to stand but tripped on my feet and fell down "No! Please."

"Dracarys!" She screamed as hard as she could, as I tried to crawl towards her. The dragon obeyed his rider and soon dragonfire devoured my mother.

"Laena!" It was my father's voice.

"Mother!" I screamed and thrashed and cried but couldn't reach her. Daemon came by my side and tried to embrace me but I kept thrashing my arms and legs.

I wanted to reach her, hold her. But as the fire died down, I lost that chance.

I will never be able to hold her again,
