"Hello Stefan."
Stefan's eyes widened. I wondered what he thought I was going to do to him.
"Why- How are you here? What happened?" He gasped, I could see confusion in his eyes.
"Stefan, I didn't die in the fire, obviously. I managed to escape with the help of Jonathan Gilbert. He asked for the moon stone, which I gladly gave him in exchange for the chance to live my life to the fullest."
He looked confused, but straightened up and bodily said, "Yes, well I understand you did escape, and now I understand why, but, how did you know I was here? I haven't seen you in years. In fact, I haven't seen you since 1864."
I laughed, and he seemed to appear confused. "Stefan, do you ever think I would leave you? I wanted to escape, but I still checked up on you every couple of years. Of course, I couldn't let you see me, but I was still there. Because I have always loved you. I always will. And for how I knew where you were, well I just asked Elena. And of course, compelled her afterwards to forget."
Stefan stood and stared. I don't think he ever believed I had ever loved him. He was probably mad at me too.
"Well, are you going to go after Elena or what?" I questioned him, I knew the answer already.
He nodded his head slightly, turned and went after her. I was left standing in the Salvatore, watching the man I had loved run after the girl he now loves, that wasn't me. That broke my heart.
Although I did care for Damon, I never loved him. It was always Stefan.
