"What?" Damon turned around suddenly, even scaring me.
"How could leaving us, protect us? If anything, we needed you to help us. We were newly turned vampires, and you left us at the moment we needed you most? How could you?"
I looked to the floor, then look up again with "puppy eyes".
"I'm sorry. I had to leave, I had no choice."
"What? Ok, I understand if you had no choice that you had to leave, but we could of come with you. We could have started a life together. But no, you were too self absorbed and ran away, because you were scared, weren't you!"
I gasped. What had happened to Damon? He was so innocent but now, I don't know what had happened to me. It was probably my fault.
"I didn't just run away, and start my life again, I've been running ever since I left you. Klaus has been on the hunt for me, because I was the one thing he needed when I was a human. But I changed, and he was ever so mad. I could stay a while in places, but not long enough, as soon Klaus would have word of where I was. That's why I left. If you can't accept that reason, then you have nothing else to accept."
Damon stared at the ground, and I turned and walked out the door. As I left I heard bottles being smashed, and realised there was defiantly a part of me that still cared, and suddenly all my reasons didn't matter anymore. What had I done?
