I sat in the mess hall, thankful Steven wasn't there. 

"Hey Y/n!" Eren walked toward me, waving his hand in the air wildly to get my attention. Mikasa, Sasha, Hange, and Armin were walking with him.

"Hi Eren. Are you ready for the investigation Monday?"

He sat down next to me with a wide grin on his face. "Yep! I'm super exited! It's my first investigation. Tell me, what are they like?"

I looked at him for a moment. "Boring. Cold. Fruitless. Mostly cold though."

Hange's mouth twitched.

"Don't." Mikasa warned. 

Hange said it anyway. "That's what she said,"

Armin's face turned red.

I did a spit take.

Eren stared at me blankly. "I don't get it..."

I wiped my mouth and stood. "Oh you sweet summer child."

The next day was full of fun. We ran through the woods like little kids and laughed until our sides hurt. Steven was nowhere to be seen. It felt good to have a day off, even if I had just had one. It was my happiest day on duty so far. After dinner we were all completely wiped out. I walked down the long hallway to my room. 

I read in my room for a while. I hadn't gotten many chances to read lately. It was late and everyone had retired to their rooms about an hour ago. My eyes began to fell heavy, so I decided to do the same. I was just setting my book down when there was a knock at my door.

Ugh. Who could that be? I thought to myself. Regardless, I opened it. 

Steven stood in the door way. My anxiety rose. I wanted to slam the door. To hide. To do anything really, but my body wouldn't move.

"hey. I told you we'd have some fun later." 

I stepped backwards. 

He walked closer to me, shutting the door behind himself, still staring at me.

"G-get out." I told him. I cursed myself for letting my fear be known.

"Oh, what's the matter? Don't want to have any fun?"

He lunged forward and slammed me into the wall.

"That's to bad. I want fun."

"Get off me!" I screamed.

"Tsk, I'm afraid I can't do that." He grabbed my wrist and through me onto the bed before pining me down.

I looked into his cold eyes. "I said, GET OFF ME!"

I used the moves Levi showed us the day before, and was able to thrust my knee into his stomach. He cried in pain, giving me enough time to slip out from underneath him. I flung the door open, Steven close on my heels.

"Help!" I cried. 

I ran out of the room and straight into someone's arms. I looked up to see Levi looking down at me. He flew around the corner and into his room before sitting me on his bed.

"Stay here." He turned and left the room, slamming the door behind him.
