Chapter 6

       Finally, I've reached the winter break and finished a long week of finals for the semester. I headed to my job and quickly clocked in and started my shift. It was cloudy that day and it was gonna rain so I would probably have to catch a bus after work.

       As I clocked off of work I headed to the bus stop and made it as soon as it started raining. I stood under the bus stop for about five minutes before the bus arrived. The ride home didn't take long, maybe about half the time it takes me to walk there. I got off the bus and headed up the flight of stairs and into my apartment. As I was unlocking the door a hand grabbed me from behind. "AAAAAGH!!" I shrieked, and quickly spun around in a defensive stance. "Jesus girl, it's just me." April said, holding her hands up in the air in a joking manner. "Oh my gosh April I'm so sorry. Come on in." I finished unlocking the door and let her in first. We then headed off to my room and as I headed in I noticed my window was open.

       "Uh..." I stood there confused, I might've left it open when I was getting ready this morning but I don't remember leaving it all the way open. We walked deeper into the room prepared to defend ourselves. I had my backpack in front of me ready to swing, while April was holding up her fists. The next thing we knew we were tackled to the ground. But how, I didn't hear footsteps. Then it clicked, ninjas. "Hey Leo, and Mikey I presume from the small giggle next to me." They then helped us up. "How did you know it was us?" Mikey asked with a glare. "It's kind of obvious. Mikey wouldn't stop giggling after y'all tackled us." April explained. "Mikey what the heck bro." "Sorry Leo I couldn't help it, it was too funny for me to hold it in."

       I put my belongings next to my desk and look back at the others with my hands on my hips. "Well anyways what brings you two here other than scaring me." "I wanted to hang out with you y/n. And I dragged Leo along." Mikey said happily jumping up and down. We all then headed over to my bed and began catching up with each other. "So y/n, are you happy it's the end of the semester?" "Yea. By the way what's your schedule for next semester? It sucked we didn't have some classes together." We compared schedules while Mikey was looking over our shoulders observing us, while Leo just sat on his phone.

       We continued chatting about our week for a bit. "Hey y/n, wanna come over to the lair for Christmas?" Mikey asked. I thought about his question, my brother and I would spend Christmas eve together and I could head over to the lair that night and spend Christmas with the turtles. "Sure that sounds like fun." I exclaimed.

       "Say, do y'all want to help me decorate my apartment?" all of their faces seemed to brighten up and I took that as a yes. April helped me grab some decorations from the storage unit from the basement, while Leo and Mikey cleaned up the apartment. Luckily we were able to make one trip. Once everything was back into the apartment we began decorating. We all put out decorations in every corner and place that was possible. We decorated everywhere except for one spot. We looked in the containers and all that was left were ornaments. "Looks like we need a tree. Anyone wanna come-" I was cut off. "ME!" Leo shouted. We all looked at him with confused looks plastered on our faces. "You ok big bro?" Leo got red in the face. "Of course. I'm just excited to go pick out a tree to decorate for y/n." "Ok then let me get dressed and we can head out." I informed Leo and headed to my room.

       I put on warm clothes as it began to snow after the bit of rain we had. I grabbed some larger pants and a coat for Leo and headed out of the room to see Leo already dressed up for the weather. "Where'd you pull those clothes from?" "I already brought these. I just took them off after we snuck through your window." I set down the extra clothes and grabbed my phone and wallet and we left.

April's Pov

       After Leo and y/n left, me and Mikey went to sit on the couch and turned on y/n's game console and began playing against each other. "So was that just me or was that weird of how Leo shouted out like that?" I asked Mikey while staying focused on the game. "Totally, I mean my brothers are weird at times but that was a whole lot weirder than usual." "So what do you think the reason for shouting out like that was?" "I don't know but I could use Dr. Feelings on him later." We looked at each other with a smug look on our faces and nodded then continued to our game.
