Fei wiped off the warm, red blood that dabbled onto her face as her rosy lips curled upward into a triumphant smirk. She paced over the scattered corpses and proceeded slowly towards the exit, assessing the damage she had done. It would certainly be a gruesome sight for the person who was going to find it, but it hardly phased her. Years of training had made her indifferent to the bloodshed. If anything, she was relieved to have finally gotten rid of them- they were just an obstruction in her path to vengeance.
Playfully saluting the silhouette waiting for her in the dim hallway, Fei bent over to pluck her dagger from the chest of a blurry-faced corpse. Wiping the blood off on the victim's soiled shirt, she snuck a glance at the reflection on the mirrored wall before her. She froze.
The sight before her was unsettling; fragments of a familiar figure strode up to her, motives hidden behind a stone façade. It all happened too quickly- she didn't expect it. She didn't notice the knife until it was piercing her skin, being pushed deeper, trying to end her.
But in those few moments, her worry was not that she felt no pain at all. Nor that she had the strength to stand and look warily at the blood darken her black beaded dress. No; her worry was the culprit. The very same figure that she had put so much trust in, had just driven a blade through her.
...But why?
It was only when she collapsed that Fei noticed the bleeding worsen. She gazed up as her vision blurred and tears threatened to fall. That was when she met the cold gaze of the 'figure'. He lowered down and looked into her eyes. Somehow, the gaze of those honey coloured irises seemed so familiar, as if they were once a symbol of warmth to her. She just couldn't understand what was happening. But as much as nothing seemed to make sense, that was it. It was going to be game over for her, sooner than she had hoped. And those treacherous golden eyes were the last thing Fei would get to see...
