She watched from afar
Crying in the pouring rain
Witnessing the love of her life
As he laughed and smiled
A peasant, just like her
Looking into the Prince's eyes
In a true state of happiness
Just being himself after the longest time
Entranced; in their own world
As they held each other's hands
Under the starlit sky
In a silent vow of love
She witnessed something beautiful
And decided this was fate
That they deserved a fairytale ending
Just like the stories she'd read
There was no room for her in his heart
The way she had wanted it to be
But as long as he was happy
And friends they would be
She deemed it an honour
So with a sad smile she trudged
All the way home
The mirthless laughter that escaped her lips
Turning into silent sobs
As she hid away
The only witness of her sorrow
Being the Goddess of the Sky
As She watched Her beloved
Drinking herself away
(Thoughts? I kinda wrote this and then spent an entire hour coming up with a plot for this story, but in the perspective of the "peasant boy"/love of her life/ best friend, as they grow up and he somehow becomes close to the prince while being completely oblivious of his best friend's love for him, not understanding the resentment she had towards the prince as she watched them fall in love. Then there's this girl that they grew up with and hardly remember, but she's actually constantly with them, especially when the girl is saddened by heartbreak, but they don't really notice. What they also don't know is that that's the Goddess of the Sky and that she's developed a level of affection for this girl and that's why she's watching over her. I'm never actually gonna write this, but have an overactive imagination
