I am extremely sorry for this, it's an essay I wrote for school about... 2 years ago? Yeah, I think.... Anyway it was about "the moment that changed our life ", so me being me made it kinda fantasy-ish and I was really proud of it at the time, but now it feels stupid (my teacher never even assessed it??). So just keep that in mind if you actually read this unedited shit  :')

I stood there, alone, in the depths of the forest– surrounded by a flurry of green and brown. I bent over, clutching my knees and squeezing my eyes shut until my breathing calmed and my heart rate steadied. I had been sprinting desperately all the way from the vineyard until I found myself here– wherever here was. I didn't know exactly what I was running from, except that the hazy blur that had just tried to attack me meant I was far from safe.

The echo of a twig being trampled on in the distance made my body tense. My eyelids fluttered open and I prepared myself to run. Focusing, my eyes encountered a figure standing there. I stared curiously, trying to examine the beautiful animal that stood, bathing in the warm sunlight. It stared back at me, equally as curious.

Drawn towards it, I unconsciously took a step forward and it did the same. Intrigued, I glided a little closer and it mirrored me repeatedly until it was an arm's length away. I took that moment to run my eyes over the animal. It was a gorgeous roe deer, the largest I had ever seen– slender and innocent, so enchanting that it didn't seem as if it belonged in a world as impure as ours.

The roebuck shuffled back– of his own accord– and bowed until his head touched the soft grass. I cocked my head to the side in confusion, inching closer, and soon found myself and soon found myself leaning forward with my fingers millimetres away from his head. With that gesture he closed the gap, and showed me a vision that would change my life forever...
