the trio, miyazaki, kuina and chishiya were all sat by the pool at night as people partied due to the success of the games. miyazaki had changed back into her swimsuit and it was cold out. she wanted to go inside and sleep but she didn't feel safe in the rooms either, knowing it wouldn't lock. she wanted to crash in whichever room kuina was in. maybe it was strange since they barely knew each other, but she trusted her way more than anyone else at the beach.

"i'm going to head inside." she told the two beside her, moving her feet out of the water. she placed her hand on kuina's shoulder for support so she wouldn't fall as she stood up. "sorry."

"you're good." she replied.

"see ya."

"what do you think of her?" kuina asked chishiya when she was out of sight.

"she's interesting. we should keep her around. she'll be useful." he replied and she rolled her eyes. of course, he was talking about his plan and how he could use her to his advantage.

"sure." she mumbled, glancing over her shoulder where miyazaki had disappeared.

she noticed a familiar annoying militant walking in the same direction. she wasn't sure what came over her but she abruptly stood up and strode after him, leaving chishiya alone to think.

unfortunately, miyazaki encountered the militant, niragi, who she remembered from the maze game. she wasn't happy to see him at all and it only made her hate the beach even more. she got a strange vibe from him and it creeped her out.

"it's you." he said, circling her.

"sorry, i don't know you." she said, brushing past him because she wasn't in the mood to deal with him. as she continued walking, she felt a tug on her hair and then she was yanked back by niragi.

"where are you going?"

"don't touch me." she swatted his hands away, getting out of his grip. for a few seconds, he glared at her, his gun threateningly hanging on his shoulder and his jaw clenched.

"miyazaki! there you are!"

the silence was broken by kuina's voice as she hurried over to miyazaki, throwing her arm around her shoulder.

"kuina..."

"i promised i'd finish giving you a tour, right? come on, let's go." she said, urging her with eyes to start walking.

"oh, right. yeah. i didn't get to see the bar yet." miyazaki said, going along with the act.

"hey! i was talking to her!" niragi reached out to them to grab ahold of miyazaki again but instead his hand hit someone else as they walked in between him and the two girls.

"sorry. i wasn't looking." chishiya said with a condescending look, his hands in his pockets.

"are you looking for a fight?!"

"it's time for the executives meeting, no?" he said, taking one hand out of his pocket to gesture to the side. then he turned around and started walking again.

"i'm not done with you." niragi sneered, waving his gun at miyazaki before following chishiya. kuina waited for him to disappear and then dropped her arm off the shorter's shoulder and crossed her arms.

"this is the third time i've saved you! it's not a good idea to mess with the militants if you want to survive here. now because of you, i had to get involved with one of them." she said, frustrated.

"i didn't ask you to do that." miyazaki replied. she was going to thank her but after hearing her complain, she got annoyed and couldn't hold back her tongue. "why did you?"
